I have tried two Tonics. Hot one Doxy each time and the odd Death Eater, but Fluffy didn't Come from using the potion. Seven hours' brewing and two Erumpent horns per Doxy is a bit much.
Not sure if a bug but I'm been using Exsimulo potions but it not registering for task. There is no mention of use on wizarding floors so this should be working
@Adrabella The task only recognise the weakest light blue extimulo potion and not the strong or potent ones. If you’re using just the weakest one and it’s still not registering it as part of the task, then I would suggest for you to report it in the app.
I'm less mathematical about it. Find a chamber level you can bet the foes without using a lot of potions. Foes that are about double your stamina is a good gauge. If your defeating Foes in 2 spells go up a level. You get 2 red books very time you max challenge level. Number of points needed to max depends on your level.
Fighting Fortress in groups increases points so does using baruffio brain elixir also increases xp points
I’m loving the extra oddities from the tonic. Mr horsey man is usually quite rare in Scotland (prefers clear skies) but my tally is creeping up.... if I put the effort in with oddity wizarding challenges for the centaur bow, then a community day prestige isn’t out of the question....
remind me, the brilliant portkeys I have now, having finished the first half, are no good for the second half, so I should clear them?
but the event runestones are ok, so it would be worth keeping a few of those for any wizarding challenges in the second half?
@KatherineSarah yeh its best to keep your runes now til week 2, then you can have at it & go nuts getting the fragments.
The portkeys from this week will just give you the parts youve already completed for now, but also hopefully plenty of erumpent horns as they seem to have been doing.
If you have any left over for week 2, they will then give u the appropriate piece for week 2, but they will be allover for week 2 anyway, and u may need to open some then for the tasks so its up to you based on how much walking you do with that one? If u can clear them its still good & get a batch of new if u can open those quite quickly too.
Im loving seeing Mr horsey man too 😂 i had never! Seen him b4 the event so its good to finally be getting him & lots of doxies at last! Yay!

Is anyone else having trouble finding Portkeys? We’ve only got like one day left to finish it and I haven’t managed to find a single Portmanteau anywhere, not even regular ones... are the Brilliant event ones just really rare or is my app glitching or something?
Got to say I'm really disheartened by this event. I had an abysmal drop rate in the first ever event for the challenge foundable, thought it had been fixed as since then the drop rate has been much better for me but suppose that was just luck as now I'm at a 3 in 10 drop rate currently. I also thought they'd acknowledged it was too tricky by making that a three piece foundable instead of a five, but now it's part of the tasks too, meaning I need five again (and some people will have had to get 6 - at my current drop rate that would require 20 runestones).
I do understand making some level of challenge. But with the current setup someone could play 24/7 and use 100 runestones and still fail at this event, that doesn't seem right to me. Surely they could increase the drop rate the more challenges you'd fought or something til it reaches 100% when you'd used a certain number? Or provide some sort of way to purchase something to help.
@ChrissygLB may sound silly but have you checked you have space? I thought I did at the start and didn't, was wondering why I didn't see any for the first couple of hours 😆
Spawn rate isn't super high but you should definitely have seen some by now. Have you tried more busy areas or parks?
A curious question, will “fluffy” be available after the brilliant event, or should I panic? One fragment left and 3 tracing tonic not resulting in any. Don’t have enough erumpenthorn to brew more 😔
@Ministrumpan the three headed dog is on the new oddities page. It will be available outside this event. However, like dragons, it appears to be a very rare foundable.
@Ministrumpan - if you only have one fragment left to place the image of the three headed dog aka fluffy — i.e., 14/15 — that is awesome! good luck to ya getting that last fragment.
i am still at 2/15 and not for lack of trying (and crying). @Ginnungagap is right, fluffy is really playing hard-to-get
@KatherineSarah I might have misunderstood, but just in case, I believe you were correct about the portkeys. They only give the fragment applicable when you picked up the portmanteau. So yes, go ahead and clear those out before part 2.
@Dogoutlaw oops!!! I was sure last time i had some brilliant portkeys leftover & they gave the new frag!? My apologies KatherineSarah. Thanks for putting that right for me Dogoutlaw. Sorry!! 🤦🏼♀️
I finally completed the event this lunchtime! Phew. Felt very relieved when I did it!
I was thinking it might be nice for the next event to try and organise a player spreadsheet of which level fortress people chose for each challenge with an event runestone, and whether they received one of the event fragments or not (along with what their highest level is). It's very hard to tell as an individual whether higher is better etc, because the sample size is too small. But if we could get several hundred examples we might see a pattern emerge.
I'm very frugal with my potent exstimulo potions but, since week two of the event requires using several of them, this will be the week that I finally attempt to climb the ranks in the Dark Chambers. If I can get through chamber two fairly easily, I might take on chamber three. I don't think I'll go higher than that though, because I don't want to blow through more potions than I can replenish before Halloween. 💀👻
@Acumen our small group is going to do the same Wed evening. When we have all three professions, we can do Dark III now without potions. Would be cool to see what we can do when we actually want/need to use those potions. And maybe we’ll have another lesson or two under our belt since the last session, so will be fun to see.
Don’t forget reduced brewing time on exstimulo again, so that will definitely help replenish.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the reduced brewing time, @Dogoutlaw. That definitely provides some extra incentive to boldly go where I haven't gone before. The only other players I'm able to do challenges with occasionally are also professors, so even with a group I still end up using potions on anything above Forest II. 🤷
So is there a new potion coming? Says in the free pack for this weeks brilliant event we will get a unicorn horn. Or is it a typo and it will be a unicorn hair?
Let me know if you have any questions! Also, @Gatorella, deff a typo! Though I do wonder what type of potion would require a Unicorn Horn 🤔It would be a very rare potion!
@Acumen you need to find (or recruit) some auror and magizoo homies! LOL But seriously, I know what you mean. When you're short on the other professions, it's harder to go higher. Good luck exploring the fortress frontier!

What is the best way to collect spell books?
@Gatorella Fortress challenges. Hard work basically!

@AuroraKadavra lol. You still joined in, so all good. 😊 Seriously, that video is awesome .
@Gatorella Congratulations!
I finally saw Fluffy and it was with a trace tonic. I need to brew more of them. Also, I took another screenshot:

Wish I could login to enjoy this event.
@Gatorella congrats on finishing the tasks this thread has great tips about Fortress and red books.

kiheikid
thanks, found a awesome place out in the woods where 4 fragments appeared on one tonic! The others where scattered all over my town.
but now... I tried 3 tonics in the same placeout in the woods, but nothing!!!
But now I’m calm reading it will stay 😁

Brilliant event part 1 finished. I had a lot of fun.
Now preparations must focus on the community day and part 2.
@kpwxx yeah for finishing it. We all knew you could.
What a fun event. I'm so jazzed for community day Saturday!
@HPWULola and the whole HPWU team great job this event was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!

Posted details about Week 2, which starts in 5 minutes, here:

@Overflow4487 miss seeing your posts, hope you’re well!
I’m sorry @Dogoutlaw! I’ve been on Twitter more than here recently. I will try and do better!
