Any I fought 3 Fortress battles with event runestones and didn't get anything event related. I know the runesto e category is not a guarantee of the family prize. What I'd like to know is did anyone get event related prize from a Fortress?
This is great! Stuck at the office, so I haven't been able to spot very many oddities yet, but seeing other people's reports has me super excited!
Also, @Titianium, if you earned any of those crest fragments before you reached that SOS task, they won't count. I earned three crest fragments and placed the image while I was still on the second group of tasks, where we had to use five healing potions, so none of those counted toward one in the third group of tasks that actually tells you to go get the fragments. I'll need to do some more challenges to get three more fragments now that I'm on that step. Hopefully that makes sense.
@Owlx My first battle using an event runestone didn't give me anything event related either. The next three did.
However, I didn't want to "waste" the health potions on normal oddities, but now I have to get more of those runestones, and get three more parts of the Malfoy Crest...
@Owlx I think I got them from using the level 1 Runestone from this event... I’m. It 100% sure as I was trying to get to the 4th part before leaving work.
Kapow! I still have to walk off a couple more brilliant portkeys to finish up the image fragments on the registry page though, so I'm done but not DONE.
Nice @Acumen ! Hubby finished about 20 min ago as well. First time he’s beaten me to the finish...😏 I’m stuck on that darned Malfoy Crest! Only two fragments out of seven battles, whereas he got one every single time he used an event runestone. I’m starting to think he’s the chosen one...
That's funny, @Dogoutlaw. ☺️ I got fragments with my first three challenges, but they didn't count because I hadn't reached that task yet. It took another five challenges to get three more. I'm still waiting for the day I get stuck doing twenty or more challenges with no fragment drops. I've heard horror stories but it hasn't happened to me yet. It's only a matter of time before bad RNG voodoo catches up with me though.
@Owlx - i spent 4 fighting forces brilliant runestones to get and place my 3 malfoy crest fragment ... all in tower chamber 3; my wife spent 4 fighting forced brilliant runestones and got only 2 malfoy crest fragments ... all in tower chamber 5 except for once in tower chamber 3 ... she’ll have to grind to get some more of those runestones and try again tomorrow after we go into town for more spell energy (we live in rural area with no inns within walking distance)
by the way, the trick discussed on page 2 of this thread did NOT succeed in preventing rank up freeze of oddities registry page and dark arts registry page today; stuck at 100/100 with no way to exit page except by hard reboot, even when i did the trick

I had the best ever night & i didn't even get to do any battles yet!! I did a few low levels for books before event started, at the park ready. Then daughter didn't feel great, so we of course took her home- gave her cup of tea, blanky & promptly left her with the dog to keep company while we rushed back out just local for the event starting! 😂
I just totally love that all encounters are like oddity traces. Tho it can be a zap on energy so I'm glad I'd just upped my spell limit & we have a run of 6 inns we can do on our route.
The brown centaur! First time id ever seen him! Woohoo! Love fluffy, and the escapee flinging his wand as he goes down made me laugh. I got to finish my defence-breach lesson too cos of the red book. Fab stuff.
Can't wait for dusk run & battling today.

please use the lowest level of Existimolo... othe higher levels will not give you credit.
Right on, @Titianium! Yeah, I discovered that about the exstimulo too. I think I saw @Dogoutlaw mention it, but I spaced it. When I saw that I didn't get credit for the strong exstimulo I used, that jogged my memory. I feel halfway certain that when exstimulo was called for in a task during past events, any variety would count. Oh well, not a big deal, but definitely worth pointing out for the folks who haven't reached that task yet.
What is the best way to get more brilliant runestones? I am stuck on the malfor crest task and now I don't have anymore Forces runestones to look for the crest. Is it true higher level challenges produce the crest?
It's entirely random, @Gatorella. Others will post that they were three-for-three by doing challenges in a particular chamber level, but someone else who tries the same chamber may not get any fragments at all after three challenges.
Another task on the current quest you're working on (3 of 4) is to use regular exstimulo potion 5 times. If you haven't done that already, that will earn you another 15 brilliant family XP toward ranking up that registry page and earning another brilliant runestone.
Other than that, your best option is to keep fighting the brilliant death eater and brilliant Azkaban escapee to earn enough brilliant family XP to rank up again.
Oh, and Brilliant portkeys will generally award some Brilliant family XP, as well. Go with whatever is better for your particular situation, which could be both if you've got time to wander around and burn some spell energy. 🙂
Family xp! If you notice, the brilliant family only goes to level 40 vs the 100 on every other page. So no matter how bored you may be fighting those guys they do give you a faster return on runestones and scrolls.

Higher level tower has better chance of reward from the event rune.

@owlx I am having the same issue! I have blown through 8 runestones but only collected 1 fragment. I am stuck on task 3 because of this.

I want to emphasize, it's the very basic extimulo you'll need to use. The 2 higher tier ones don't work.
