ADVICE NEEDED - Tons of Level 1 Stones...where to use them?

I've spoken to a few folks in the forums about this one, but wanted to post it publicly to gather some additional feedback.


Currently, I have over 300 level 1 runestones sitting in my vault, and I'm looking for the most efficient place to spend them. Or, in contrast, if I should save them.


Here is my situation - a level 38 player (9863 4160 1882 if you want to add me), and a level 12 Professor on Challenge Rank 103...gated by red books (like everyone else). I've fully gold prestiged Books I, Books II, and nearly complete Books III (darn that Martin Miggs!). I'm gold prestiged on Joke Products III and nearly complete with Silver on I and II. No prestige at all on Magical Devices, but bronze on Symbols I/II/III. From an exploration fragment perspective, I've completed all that I can on just about every family (gated by severe/emergency fragments to prestige page and reset them).


So I basically have 2 options and soliciting feedback on what I should do:

1) Use the stones! I have so many and need as much Challenge XP as possible to earn red books. I hear a lot, "low level stones = low level chambers". But in my scenario above, where should I spend them to maximize return and minimize spell energy use? Level I stones are also easily replaced with the bag of runes.

2) Save them stones! As soon as I complete the pages, I'll have to recollect all the exploration fragments again for the next page...thus requiring a large amount of stones for each family.


Leaning towards option 1 and staying in the Ruins V/Tower I chambers since take 6-8 spell energy each and I need Joke Products...and I have enough gold accumulated to buy about 200 additional stones. But don't want to **** myself long term for short term gains. What are your thoughts?

    I've been using the level 1 stones in the first chamber when I don't have time for full blown battles. 5 seconds waiting time, usually few enemies, no need to use potions, but it counts towards the Daily.

    My plan was always do the highest chamber to get the fragments I’m looking for. Sure, you could use them on Ruins I, but what’s the point? Lower challenge xp, and most likely not getting the fragments you need. Yes, lower SE and less time, but I don’t think the difference in those is enough to justify what to me would be a waste of time. IMHO. I think I would also lean towards option 1 like you say. You’re high enough, those chambers aren’t much of a challenge.

    If you guys are interested in my wife's idea of merging runes for all these level 1s, please help in showing the devs it is a desired feature.
