i suspect this could trigger disagreement, but i would hope people here, before chiming in on a topic, take the time to be mindful of how others might react.

if someone is reporting a bug or problem, you can:

(1) chime in and say you have the same issue or a similar issue; and/or

(2) offer a suggested solution that is relevant; and/or

(3) say nothing and leave it to the staff here to respond (i.e., please MYOB)

—-

but it could annoy others if you decide to chime in to say you do not suffer the issue. good for you, but it is gloating, not offering a balanced viewpoint. the working assumption should be that folks do not have to report that they do not have any issues to report.

I agree with the other commenters. Also, I think it’s important to note. If you’re sincerely wanting to report a bug, you should be in the report a bug section. Where you were taking offense was general feedback on the update (under announcements). Everyone was giving their opinions. People were discussing the update in general. Just because their feedback was different than yours, that doesn’t negate your comment. But it helps the developers see people are having varied experiences. Good and bad. Getting combative doesn’t necessarily help.

Since it seems you may be new here, it’s possible you haven’t seen what generally happens when people report bugs. It IS as you described. You won’t see a thread of someone reporting a bug and tons of people say nope, doesn’t happen to me! People will chime in with their similar experience, or offer suggestions. Those who have nothing to contribute generally scroll on by. Please stick around and contribute. You might find we’re not a bad lot.

    well, this is encouraging

and i hope there are solutions and suggestions (besides reboot)

one person did suggest that the rewards animation skip bug seems to be triggered after returning an oddity foundable - and i did try that (and found the same result). hope that data point is helpful to the developer

@kiheikid for most issues the blanket response is: update app, download recent assets package, clear game cache, clear mobile data connection cache and then reboot phone so all changes can restart correctly. We have been given a few specific work arounds based on device used for singular problems in the past but for the most part these generally fix the problem.

Good news is if the above mentioned do not fix it the admins here are quick to inform the devs and we normally see a solution within <48hrs. Except the infamous red dot, that buggers more persistent than a pimple 2 weeks before prom.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who fixes application problems for a living, I'm not having the same issue is an important piece of information that helps me with the troubleshooting process. As @CytopeAchen noted, deductive reasoning helps to narrow down the possible root cause. If the issue doesn't impact everyone, it could very well still be a bug, but one that only impacts users on a particular OS or device, or something else.

For the record, if we're talking about the apparent bug that skips the summary screen, it's on the known issues list and being investigated, along with the app occasionally freezing when you increase challenge or exploration family rank. I noticed this problem immediately after the update, and I hope they're able to address it quickly, because I don't like it one bit!

At least it doesn't prevent me from playing the game at all. I'm not sure how I'd react if I encountered a bug that prevented the app from running. Like, what am I supposed to do now? Be alone with my thoughts? <shudders>

in the same vein as the OP ^ ...

i just finished reading a different thread where one member expressed an opinion that the upcoming brilliant event could have been better announced/advertised, as to both amount of lead time and places where announcement made. some perhaps-well-intentioned defenders of the faith here promptly stated that the time and place aspects of the actual announcement was good enough for them (if that was all they said, that might have been still in-bounds, though saying nothing is also ok) and then proceeded to list various other places like reddit or discord where the upcoming event was also discussed/announced ... but in a way that presumes everyone already participates, or ought to participate, in reddit or discord discussions. imho, that was unnecessary.

for what it is worth, i too would have liked better notice of the upcoming brilliant event as to lead-time and place of announcement (ie, in app at the special assignments tab - which even as of 2 minutes ago still shows the generic message with no mention of the october brilliant even starting in less than 4.5 days)

no need for defenders of the faith to try to crush anyone who still likes the game overall but wishes for improvement ... this forum should not be a stepford community

(to those who know who they are, go ahead and block my posts ... you’ll be happier)

@kiheikid you have good things to add, you aren't a troll so I would never block you. I would suggest removing antagonizing language like "defenders of the faith.". I understand how you come by it as people have also attacked you personally while you are just trying to bring up your view point and critical viewpoints are good. All around the negative language directed at people just needs to go away and we can all have fun playing the game together.

    apology accepted

for the record, i suggested/hoped — not defined/mandated — what forum etiquette might include. clearly i have no ability (or hope, silly me) of persuading others to not engage in conduct or speech that has either the intent or effect of invalidating legitimate complaints or criticisms
