Switch to Magiz or Auror? Which is easier with just using scrolls?
I'm a high level Professor and want to try other professions. Both Red and Green books are very scarce, so I'm wondering which profession is better to switch to and power up using scrolls only?
Thanks in Advance.

I am in a similar position but not considering starting a second professioN. Doing so will eventually compound the problem as you will hit the same issue later
Whilst it is tempting to use the scrolls now, we have no information on how future lessons will be structured
What we really need is the red book issue solving...
I agree @OriginalCaruso , i did start to expand to professor from auror think to level 4 just trying to find the formidable pixies seemed impossible as auror. But theyve long since gone & i wont be going back to progress it further.
I know some have said its worth having the 2 profs to choose from when battling with friends at Fortresses, so i can see some advantage there. But i usually battle solo & so theres nothing to be gained from branching out.
I'm keeping my 150 or wotever it is scrolls i have for further down the line & im sooo frustrated at the pace to getting the red books. Someone did a great post about a strategy to get the red books- i cant remember who- I'll look for it & post link below.
Hope that helps @MystiqueWizard to have another angle on how best to move forward. But u might just really want to branch out for the fun- so saying that its awesome for my daughter being a Magiz with the ability to heal others & herself in battle, thats a great charm to have.
I m8ght have known it's the awesome @ZookiTabooki did the post....
Here's the link....

Don't change profession for the books! I know you need more green books but you only need about half the red books!
@MystiqueWizard one of magizoo needs is become the beast which costs 15 restricted books but is 40 power. They require maintaining 5 focus to use it as well. On the flip side Auror is made of glass and will die very quickly without weakness hex. Scrolls only is like choose your poison unfortunately.
There are at least 3 lesson plans that will be available at some point (as per the achievement), it's not going to be long before the next rank of skills requires at least 50 scrolls each, so I would consider carefully burning spare scrolls on a second profession unless you have a great need to.
@Whitehorsematt - How can you be sure the next lesson plans will require large volumes of scrolls? I would appreciate a link please
I do appreciate your input though :)
I guess this is based on the toughest lessons being at 46 scrolls in existing lesson plan. So new one would start with 50 or so.
Thats a lot though, so maybe it will much smaller number of lessons. That said, don't expect any more lessons in 2019. They will anyways need to introduce new foes and/or more chambers for new lessons to make sense.
@OriginalCaruso
Going by the current progression (last line in the Auror lesson plan is 46 scrolls/lesson), and that there will be 3 lesson plans (as per achievement).
I can't see the first of the next lesson starting at less than 50 scrolls at a minimum.
Admitedly I'm not expecting the nest plan any time soon, and as @Pamdm says, we will need new fortresses/levels and game mechanics first. There's a limit to how much upgrading your crit/defence etc. with the current mechanics could go before it gets game breaking.
I honestly felt bored not being able to get further in profession. And since I'm stuck in professor, I went ahead and put stuff into magizoo. I'm using no green or red books on it. Just normal scrolls. And I'm hoping to get a LOT of scrolls too from the next brilliant events :)
Thanks @JulieJubz for your comment. I am guessing I will have over 4,000 scrolls by next week, so I'm with you, I may add to Magiz profession. :-)
@JulieJubz I'm hoping since it is called fighting forces that wizard fortress is a more prominent element. Maybe level 5 event runes, red spellbook rewards, and/or increased challenge xp during the event.
@MystiqueWizard I honestly think that that's kind of what they want us to go for. We're all going super fast with everything, and I'm starting to see people with two different profession badges on their IDs, and I think that's awesome! It's like getting to explore the game even more in finding out what different professions have to offer :)
Plus, it's too early to call, and I could be completely wrong about this... but I'm thinking we really won't be getting any new profession lessons at least for a few more months.
@Ginnungagap And yeah, there's been rumors that that will be the case, and I'm really intrigued to see how it's gonna go.
@JulieJubz I am focused on being one of the first to complete their entire lesson plan.
Can I ask at what levels you guys are starting your second professions? Or maybe I am just too focused on completing my Auror lessons first. I can barely keep enough scrolls and books in my satchel and I am about 500XP away from Lvl 30.
@Bormacska - your situation will change soon as red books become harder to acquire and more are required to improve your skills
@OriginalCaruso I believe I have just finally hit that wall. I guess I have been following @ZookiTabooki 's awesome red book advice and have been able to keep up my book to scroll ratio pretty evenly spaced to this point. 😅 Oh well, now on to the grind. Better than peeling potatoes by hand for hours!
@Bormacska - try maxing strategic spells cast to hit 3000 and get 15 red books, every little helps :)
Well, another thing to keep in mind, is that we'll never truly be able to complete a lesson plan unless those side lessons that need 15 green books each, don't count towards finishing a lesson (to be more accurate, we will, but it will take a veeeeery long time).
Because as a professor, I'm level 11 and after I use the green books to finish off the "Perfected Protection Charm", the "Deterioration Hex Mastery" and "Advanced Proficiency Charm"... all I have left is the "hat" lessons. And those are 15 green books each. And there's 8 of those in the professor three.
So my idea is that, once I finish leveling up my hexes, I don't think I'll be using green books on the "hats", because I would rather use them for future hexes. But that means I don't actually finish a lesson plan. So should I hold on to them in hopes that a new professor three opens up... or should I actually finish a lesson for real and use them on the hats?
And then, if we think about when we actually get green books, if all brilliant events continue to give us 13 books (which is never a guarantee) we need 120 green books for the hats alone. So that's... a lot of brilliant events. Lol (and this doesn't even so much as mention the fact that red books are also a huge problem).
Apologies if any of my math is wrong, I am the absolute worst with math, but I think I did alright here. Hahaha.
@JulieJubz I know some of the hat lessons seem boring, but I’m actually looking forward to a few of them. The ones that give more power when I have enhancements will get me on par with hubby magizoo’s beast mode. And the ones at bottom for pixies and werewolves will be awesome. The group we battle with weekly at white fortress, we’ve reached Dark II, and those foes... they’re tough! So really excited to buff up some of those skills.
@Dogoutlaw I actually totally agree with you! It's just that every time I think that just one of those takes 15 green books... it breaks my heart xD
@JulieJubz oh totally!! 😂 I’ve finally made a list of lessons left and prioritized the order I’ll do them. It was difficult putting some of those above certain charms, but in the end, it will take the same amount of time. I am going to finish my lesson plan tho, so if you really didn’t care about finishing, then I could see the temptation to save the books.
Break the goal down into smaller steps, completing a lesson plan is like eating an Elephant. I view each step as an achievement, eating the Elephant one plate full at a time, eventually I will consume the Elephant
Apologies to my veggie friends :)
To update all , I will wait to spend the scrolls (now over 4,000 of them lol) until the new lesson plan comes out. I agree that Red and Green books are the bottleneck, so no use fussing over these scrolls until they figure out a way to make them useful.
Cheers and thanks again for all the great suggestions.
Ha! I got on here hoping to figure out what to do with my extra 300 scrolls and ya'll have 4k of them. That's amazing.👏
