So, there has been numerous times I've successfully overpowered a confoundable only for it to freeze on the grassy scene after forcing a restart. Wouldn't be a huge deal but I dont get the fragment so its especially annoying when it's a more rare one. Anyone else have that problem?!
AND! Am I the only one who's avatar gets randomly 'stuck' places? It happens multiple times a day and I'm forced to restart the game almost every time to get it to start moving again.

I've had the freezing issue every once in a while. It's happened a few times on rare items, and I agree it's super irritating that it doesn't add the fragment to your count.
I've had both. My witch freezes so incredibly often that I've named her L.B. for Lazy B#[email protected] It was so bad in Indy that I almost couldn't finish the second task/assignment thing because one of them was walk 2K and SHE WOULD NOT MOVE! I don't restart the game, though, because it's seriously all the time. I just yell at her, shake my phone, or wait till she moves. ☹🤬☹
@CVRLuna that made me laugh- think i should nickname mine something similar. It's been the past week since dragon day things have gone downhill for me in terms of my avatar is freezing at least 4 or 5 times whilst im out on an energy run & fortress etc.
Plus the portkey rewards have gone ridiculously terrible! Before that, it was quite rare it would stick, maybe 3 days out of the week it would happen once or twice. But now its every time i go out & im restart the game at least 3 or 4 times. Super annoying!! Doesnt stop me loving the game & i just crack on with it once she finally catches up. But it is driving me a bit nuts this past week!
Update - I have learned (atleast for me), when my avatar stops moving, if I lock my phone screen, wait a sec and then unlock it it almost always catches up to me.
Still haven't figured out my other problem though. Happy to know it isn't just me. But sad that others have the misfortune also.
@TaraMarjorie sadly the freezing confoundable is not new and oddly seems to prefer the more difficult to find traces and, at least for me, especially when I've used a Potent Exstimulo. At least from a competitive standpoint we all seem to suffer it equally.
As for the issue of the freezing avatar, the backing out and reentering is one work around but another is to run Google Maps as an overlay. This notably improves the gps tracking. If the issue persists I would recommend additionally clearing your mobile data cache. The same way your phone saves previous WiFi info it does the same for towers you have pinged (though I dont believe there is a way to see this list). Once this list gets a little lengthy it can cause issues with both data connectivity and gps tracking.

I think what the OP meant about freezing in the grassy scene is a particularly new bug that I’ve been encountering lately too.
It usually happens with rare and/or high or above threat level spawns, though it has happened to me a couple of times with low level common spawns too.
I successfully return the foundable, the counfoundable has gone off screen and just when the rewards screen should show up, the fragment counter pops back on screen again (it disappears when you engage the confoundable) and it stays that way on the empty screen. I would have to restart the app,and when I do, I’d have lost the spell energy, the dawdle draught and the extimulo potions that I had used, but the foundable fragment would not be in the registry, even though I had successfully returned it. It’s so frustrating; especially when it is the last fragment of a rare foundable, that is the last foundable in the page before it gets prestiged. 👎
I’ve had this happen to me a couple of times as well. Most recently with a horned serpent, where I was able to defeat it however it returned on the screen, then dissapeared leaving a grey empty screen. Hopefully the issue can be fixed soon.
