Funny u should mention that much dragon claw, my daughter has been listen to me keep saying noooooo! Everytime i open portkey & again no claw- so last night she laughed so much at my face when she got 24 in one portkey!!!! And 3 in 2 others- it was definitely a kodak moment im sure!!
Would absolutely love to trade unicorn hair for dragon claw! If only they built that into the game where we could arrange a trade, both have to press agree & voila! Much needed ingredients suddenly not the bane of my life! 😂

Yep, lol, that’s my sentiment with the unicorn hair. I got two from portkeys yesterday, but since I’ve ran out of potent extimulo potions, that’s not enough. Who knows, trading might be built in later. But until then and if they don’t, there’s a lot of walking written into our futures.
@AuroraKadavra I assume she was using a 10km portkey and got dragon claw as the first and last thing found and got ingredients for all 5? It is really difficult to get to 24 lol. She must have gotten really lucky with her multipliers.

I keep hoping for an erumpent horn in a port key but outside of the community event have yet to see any. I also remind myself daily (usually whilst reading the forum 😅) that this is a game very much in its infancy. And I imagine the first port key I find with some bonus like your daughters or even one horn I will probably either drop my phone in shock or do the happy dance of joy! I'm beginning to think that the devs want to keep us on our toes! 😉

You are right about the walking- which I think is a really positive thing- I'd never be doing this much walking it it weren't for the game so I'm grateful for a motivation to get me out & about each day 😊
@AuroraKadavra I wasn’t able to for a few days as I was quite busy, but weirdly enough after writing that yesterday I was able to visit some of the greenhouses I planted. I stocked up well, just in case I ended up having another few days where I couldn’t visit a greenhouse after planting it.
Thats the same in my case with regards to walking. I’ve ended up doing a lot more of it since downloading the game. Sometimes even just going out for half an hour to an hour just to finish the daily goals on days where I didn’t really need to leave the house. It’s making me less of a couch potato, so I’m happy 😊

But ive found its a lovely time to be out, still light just yet, quiet as most are home having tea then & i can wander about as it turns dusk with the bonus of horned serpents too!
Nothing - except this game lol, could have enticed me to go wandering the streets 6-7pm. And i get home excited about what ive caught & xp earned & then fill my book in like the true geek I am! Lol.

@AuroraKadavra that is a nice time to go out, I’ve gone at that time a couple of times as well. Only problem is, soon it’s going to be night not dusk during that time. So not long left for me to enjoy the 6-7 dusk slot. Also, during some stay at home days that was the time I went to my local park just to do a quick fortress battle and visit inns to finish my daily tasks.

I found my first Erumpent Horn outside the event yesterday on the map. So I’m finally convinced they exist in normal circumstances.

@HerMayree this has been one of my pet peeves with the new potion, up there with speed bumps on streets and elected officials lying.
But to your question: I don't have a good answer yet..... but they were plentiful during the recent Community day.
I have observed them close to greenhouses, or scattered between inns. My take is that the GAME AI seems to know what ingredients you need ( or lack), and sometimes places them out for us. Need bitterroot for your low Exstimulo Account? Here you are then. It also goes that discarding all your key ingredients in the Vault WILL backfire on you, as some have done, to better get the Achievement for picking up ingredients faster. Hold onto your Valerian, you will need 2, for example.
Yes sorry, getting a bit off topic here. Here's my best assessment: This Potion has not helped me find Hard traces nearly as well as Detectors. And those are easier to get, and you get awarded them occasionally for rank ups, and for certain Foundable. But as I noted elsewhere, one of the Tonics ingredients has a relationship to the Calamity. I also just found my first erumpent horn in the wild today, it was mid afternoon just near a greenhouse. I was so chuffed as only had q left so then had 2 to pop a potion on to brew.
Ive always had success with the potion cos our house os often just dead zone, last time used it i had 17 turn up- but unfortunately 5 of those departed. Gutted. Was shouting at my phone- 'why did u turn up if u were going to flee!!?' Lol 😂

Congratulations on finding the Erumpent Horn! I understand what you mean and how you feel when things depart, lol. I’ve only used the potion a couple of times when I’ve been at home; it’s not a complete dead zone, but I see a lot less of the foundables than if I was out, so it helps.

I only have seen one Erumpent horn and that was on the ground during community day. We need to figure out what the weather circumstances are and any possible location or time variants as to why they appear for some and not others.

I found 17 Erumpent horns on the ground in the last Community Day and I have found 3 on the ground since then. I don’t know if it makes a difference but all the ones I have found have been in parks.
making erupent horn so rare is intentional ... another coin spending opportunity (and therefore potentially another coin buying opportunity) was needed by the developers
that is why cost of missing 2 units of erupent horn is so steep, compared to cost of missing dragon claw, missing unicorn hair, and missing hermit crab shell
frankly, i would give away the 8 erupent horns i picked up on ground during community, if i could. i am not convinced the trace detection tonic is worth the cost. bringing in more low and medium threat level traces, and not even the rare ones of each family, but not high, severe, and emergency threat level traces ... that tonic definitely is not as good as dark detectors (which you are able to triple up per inn)
i have not seen anyone claim they can triple-use trace detection tonics at same time (concurrently, rather than sequentially)

I was sick on community day, I hear there were a lot of Erumpent horns on the ground in abundance that day, but I didn’t get any.
Oh no @LeFayeofAlbion that's such bad timing u missed the day when erumpent horns were about. I wish they would make it like that once a week or something. The trace potion is so useful!! Ive used it past 2 morns as couldn't do usual run cos daughter not well & i got a horned serpent & 4 doxies & 11 other confoundables on tues. Then 3 doxies, 1 horned serpent & 10 other confoundables today. So im seeing the light with finally prestiging my oddities page with doxies on!!
Daughter's felix felicis must have run out now she's got a bad cold but i bet she's a bottle stashed away for when shes better lol.
Her being off has given me more time also to collate my data, ive done up to chamber 4 where i have logged which fragment & how many times given with what rune- which i think will really help me to prestige pages with more focused searches. I know your form is for formidable pixies but im hoping someone techy might make a form for fortress fragments then i can pop that on.

But apart from it scarcity, it really annoys me that the team would have chosen that as an ingredient, considering what's in the darn books. "Dangerous and Subject to Strict Control", and it could have been just the fluid, or pretty much anything else, considering its supposed use in the potion : "An **** ingredient of Tonic for Trace Detection."

So sleepy village- little primary school & local ye olde church on corner, right by the river. Thats the street I was on heading back to the river & one was there just across from an inn (which was built in 1702) lol- just fyi. Lots of Roman remains there, many buildings have stones etc from 2AD like the bath remains there.
Anyway- so head to your nearest sleepy heritage beautiful village, just by the river, primary school & church about 2pm in afternoon & you've cracked it 😂

That’s so cool, @AuroraKadavra! I love exploring our eastern states for the rich history. Of course, our nation is still in its infancy compared to much of the developed world. Still, a lot has happened, and it’s nice to see places and structures that haven’t changed much at all since the 17th century.
Ah @Acumen you would seriously love it there! Went again today & theres many houses with 1602, or 1594 etc stones to show when they were built. Streets are tiny!! And the great thing is the buildings so close together, that the walk to the inns, greenhouse & fortress are all merely a few strides! Lol. For my long legs anyway 😂
The confoundables respawn often so I set a baruffio going just on general hunt & theres never a time where u run out of confoundables.
No erumpent horns today- i would be gutted except for the fact that on the drive there & back i got McGonagall both times! 2!! Within a couple of hours 😀 reet chuffed butties I was!!

And the great thing is the buildings so close together, that the walk to the inns, greenhouse & fortress are all merely a few strides! Lol. For my long legs anyway 😂
The confoundables respawn often so I set a baruffio going just on general hunt & theres never a time where u run out of confoundables.
No erumpent horns today- i would be gutted except for the fact that on the drive there & back i got McGonagall both times! 2!! Within a couple of hours 😀 reet chuffed butties I was!!
