Issues downloading game on current phone

It's been over 2 months since the game was released and I'm still unable to get the game on my current phone yet I can download it no problem on my old phone that is with a different provider and no longer active. Makes absolutely no sense why an old phone is capable of downloading the game but not the one I'm using now. I have no clue what to do because I only have WiFi on my old phone while my current has both data and WiFi on it. I may never get to play it until I get a new phone which maybe in less than 2 years and I'm not waiting until then when I've been eager to play it since the release.

It might be helpful to say what phones you have? I'm not the tech-iest, but others on the forum might be able to help if they have that info.
