@AuroraKadavra - this post is for you. Today I saw my in game nemesis, the Whomping Willow. I think you likely know where this is going, but I’ll give you the painful details just for good measure.
I’m eating at Chipotle on my lunch break, see the red beam come up. I realize I have no potent exstimulo potion because despite unlocking 5 portkeys this week, I haven’t received a single unicorn hair. So for some baffling reason I decide to use my precious coins to BUY a potent exstimulo potion. Not sure what led to this particular brain malfunction, but I digress. I’ve never purchased potion before, but the game really got to me today clearly.
So I purchase the potent exstimulo, I engage with the blasted tree. I perform a total of 7 casts. The majority of my first 5 with the potion active were either masterful (2) or great(2), and I think I had one good cast as well. NOTHING. Potion runs out. I then use a strong exstimulo potion. Departs on the second cast...and my face though. Wanted to drop my phone in a blender.
At this point, I’ve decided I’m not going to expend any more resources chasing the Whomping Willow. It has crushed my soul for the last time. Next time I see one, I will be giving my phone the finger and calling it a day.
I hope one day this forum catches up to 2019 so you’ll be able to post your awesome screenshots/videos. But for now I’m just going to dream and stop letting this Foundable ruin my game experience.
I share this not to be a negative nancy, but because sometimes you just have to laugh to get through the game 😅 For my own sanity sake I will be giving up returning this Foundables until I have leveled up about 10 levels because clearly the leveling I’ve done is not helping in the slightest with the depart rate when I have MBOM and other low levels departing on me so frequently.
Someone share a good, inspiring story pls. My heart needs it

I have the cure for your ills; stop using potions. You'll be amazed at how little you will care when they run away simply because you saved your potions for more worthy opponents. And the more potions you use, the more it hurts. They can't run away on you in the Fortress so save your potions for those guys. The only exception is the first time I encounter something; they get one dawdle and one potent exstimulo, dats it! Whether they flee or not, all forthcoming encounters get zip for potions, period. If I get 'em great, if I don't? There's always next time. I simply wink and wave, doesn't hurt even a wee bit.
I love this story. One of the most beautiful things about the human condition is the way we can turn frustration (or even unspeakable tragedy, now that I think of it) into laughter by sharing our experiences with others in just the right way.
I also love how @ZookiTabooki just came in here and was like "don't use potions, go for the full hurt, and then it won't hurt anymore". that's like..... anime/kung **** mentor type stuff. 🤣

So true to my Gryffindor roots, I completely ignored @ZookiTabooki‘s sound logic and reason and my own previous swearing off of the notorious Whomping Willow. The red beam of temptation came up on my screen at precisely 4:00am CST while I was still out trying to return dragon portkeys (What a waste that was, as it appears to have been pre-ordained. At least I placed the stickers I guess 😓) I threw a potent exstimulo at it because a fierce challenge apparently makes me lose all sense of self preservation and logic ... BUT WAIT FOR IT.... IT ACTUALLY WORKED!
Y’all. I got it on the first cast with only a ‘Great’ cast. I AM SHOOK. I’m going to attempt to post a photo. It probably won’t work. But @AuroraKadavra I FINALLY FREAKING DID IT!!!! Y’all have been on this journey with me since the beginning so I just had to share the news. The animations though 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Wish I’d taken a video.
Edit: Due to privacy concerns I removed the Google Photos link that I posted previously. To @Acumen‘s point, we SERIOUSLY need better capabilities for photo sharing in the forums. I shouldn’t have to post something through google photos and incidentally post my actual name on the forum as a result. It’s ridiculous!
@HPWULOLA @HPWUMicah please look at photo sharing tools @Acumen and others have suggested so that people don’t have to reveal personal information on here by accident.
@Herm10neG92 First off, Congratulations!! Sometimes, they do give it up. Second, I totally freaked last week when I realized people may be able to see my real name when viewing images linked to my google drive (can't remember why I decided to use Drive instead of photos). I then checked on a machine I don't use, and realized my name wasn't posted with the image as it shows on all my devices, where I am active with google. This gave me a sigh of relief.
Honestly, I don't really care if people know who I am. I'm pretty open. But I'm not big on personal oversights, and that would have been a big one, not realizing that was happening. With that being said, now I'm half expecting someone with a reply to this post telling me that they CAN see my name. If so, that will force me to make the changes I was already anticipating having to make in order to get images to display properly in posts sooner, 'cause Google just ain't cutting it.

I sent my husband a link to the forum page and asked him to check for me and he said my name was clearly visible in both the link and once opening the actual photo as well. Not sure if it’s something I could fix in settings, I tried to look through editing options but there wasn’t anything that would work for this.
I just feel like there has to be a better way. People shouldn’t have to accidentally expose personal information because they’ve made it so difficult to share photos. Do like most other places do and recruit people who are very active on the forums to moderate photo posts. I’d be happy to wait a few minutes for approval if it was a simple process to post photos.
I’m pretty open as well and not overly concerned with people knowing who I am on here, but I just don’t know what I’m opening myself up to quite frankly. It’s a can of worms when you’re opening up people to your Google Photos. I believe I have my privacy setting on a pretty strict setting on google photos but how secure can any information that’s online really be, ya know? Just trying to be cautious and I feel this issue could be easily avoided. Very reasonable suggestions have been put forth by @Acumen and others. I think they really need to investigate these alternatives.

What a wonderful start to my morning, even if it had been left at the first story- i really was there with u! Every step!! I think i would have just gone back to bed, locked the door & not played the game for....oooo....at least an hour!! 😂
Ahh but a mahoosive congrats on getting it though! Isn't it beautiful!? I love the graphics & animations on this game, on my s9 screen they look awesome! Well done for hanging in there! Amazing stamina needs a good shout out- respect!
I do like @ZookiTabooki says & only use a potion on first time i see it, unless its McGonagall or dumbledore who i would use a strong- not potent tho lol on 2nd meeting. I never use potions (and only then its often a strong exstimulo at max) on anything except severe & emergency & i usually get all the high ones. Ive a weird theory that they somehow know how desperate u are to get it if u use potions so they know & flee out of pure naughtiness!!!
