WHY DID YOU REDUCE THE GREENHOUSE YEILDS!?!?!???!?!?!?!!?!?!?!??!!?!?!??
Of all the things broken about the Greenhouses why the FRAK DID YOU REDUCE THE YIELD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? That was the only possible GOOD thing about them, especially if you're going to spend spell energy to increase the yield. People don't use them because they take too long not because they YEILD TOO MUCH. Are you guys really trying to get people to stop using them all together? Making it LESS worth their time to fool with them.

My take: get rid of Greenhouses. Turn them into inns and fortresses (based off what's least available near a given greenhouse).
Make rare ingredients (often use of Greenhouses) less rare and available in real world. Greenhouses are a horrible way to use POIs. Especially with all the locations short on inns or fortresses.

I did notice a decrease in yield for snowdrop, specifically, and only at greenhouses. When harvesting a greenhouse (not something you're growing) you still get the usual 2 units of snowdrop (along with 4 scurvygrass, or bitterroot, or whatever). When you pick up snowdrop off the map, you still get the usual 3 units. When growing snowdrop however, it appears you only get one, assuming you didn't use spell energy to multiply the yield.
I agree, this seems like a silly and unnecessary change. The ridiculously long grow time is something they could reduce by 50% or more across the board without giving players any real advantage, because potions would still take the same amount of time to brew after all.
Still, while I agree this is dumb, it also doesn't bother me at all. Most of the time, when planting seeds in a greenhouse, I don't plan on returning to harvest the ingredient when it's ready. It's mostly just to work toward the achievements, plus I like to think someone else might happen to walk by at the right time and get something they need. When I plant toadstools at a busy park for example, I'll usually boost it to the max with x9 multiplier so someone might stumble upon a whole field of shrooms the next day. Maybe no one will be there to see them at the right time, and that's okay. It's nice just to think that maybe I made someone smile, even if it was only one time out of fifty.
All the ingredients I need are available in abundance on the map or in portkeys. The only thing I'll return to collect for personal use occasionally is toadstools. That said, I'm with @Craeft. Just do away with greenhouses entirely and turn them into Inns or Fortresses.
wait, no, please, not yet.... I've been working so hard to try and get both those green house challenges done... I got:
Plant 500 ingredients: 210/500 (gold)
and
Harvest 500 greenhouses: 380/500 (silver)
It's gonna take a few months... But just let me finish them, I've come so far 🤣 Although I'm extremely worried about what they'll want for gold in that harvesting one.... extremely worried.

I planted toadstools and made it peak yield (killing my energy) only to get a few out of it. Do sad. Not cool at all.
It almost made me cry to have invested so much SE that I drained it to grow leaping toadstools and I barely got any!
Greenhouses are the worst and weakest part in the game and could /should have been a good means of social engagement in conjunction with Inn's.... why watering cans are included as items like seed packets god only knows... far better and motivating collecting water at certain types of Inn being rewarded the more pots you water and why just one nameless pot per Greenhouse !!
Good to know if not the only one who got frakked by greenhouses. I deligently planted 4 greenhouses and returned the next day in time to get harvest from 2. Maxed one of them with 50SE! Got only 6-7 of them because the one with 9x scattered everything around rather than giving one jumbo mushroom.
Seriously, these lame greenhouses need to be fixed. The pot animation when you enter greenhouses has become pretty irritating for me, more so since it's responsible for my game getting half of the time!
please do not get rid of greenhouses. i need these things.
we only have one in this tiny town and it is out of the way to get to, long walk down a very hot road, but a huge help to get the ingredients i need when i cannot find them.
my greenhouses planted and harvested are two of the very few achievements i have left to complete because it is a journey to get to the greenhouse...but it is a necessary thing to have in the world.
greenhouses also prevent a lot of driving for spell energy - this is a good thing. i have seen many places where people drive for ingress and pokemon for resources in those games where they became a run of greenhouses in potter and makes driving while playing it nearly impossible. this is a good thing. if the pots didnt do the shell game switcheroo at the start then they could be easily played from behind the wheel.

As someone who uses greenhouses daily, here's something you guys should keep in mind:
When you plant and get it to full yield, they don't all show up all at once!
When I plant to full yield, I always count how many I'm picking up. If any are missing, I wait a little, go inside the green house then come out again, and the missing numbers will show up. It might take a few minutes, but it will.
Apparently you only have half an hour to pick up what you planted. So try and get there as early as possible. This one time my group and I planted and got it full yield, but we arrived at the very last minutes of the half hour mark, and only got 3 wormwood instead of the full thing. We even waited around to see if more would show up. So I think it kind of disappears slowly.
I had the same experience. Put in 50 SE only to get 1/3 of the snowdrop I expected. Rather than giving enough for 4 Potent exstimulos, I could only make one. I honestly can't believe this change was intentional.
Was the change mentioned anywhere official? I'm still hoping it's a bug. Can we get an official comment please?
Yep it's broken. Max yield which specifically says (x9) which should mean 1 times 9 but instead all you get is 4... that's broken. Fix it or fix the definition of max yield. Getting 3 or 4 is NOT worth 50 spell energy.
I’ve always gotten all of the ingredients I was expecting. They sometimes do take a few moments to all show up. Also, I find that if I am missing some I just need to walk closer for them to appear. If you are a small distance away and they appear on the opposite side of the greenhouse you may just not be close enough to see them.
During a visit to a city where I could fi ally get a decent amount of spell energy (rural player) I planted leaping toadstools in 3 greenhouses, boosted all of them to the max. I knew from experience I couldn't count on actually getting to harvest all 27, luckily I still got 26 which gives me almost 2 weeks worth of nightly Baruffio's brewing. But other times it's been only a handful here, or a lone one there, despite waiting, walking around, entering greenhouse, more waiting, etc.
In my hometown I can't boost the harvest, and if you're standing around waiting at a greenhouse in a town where not many people are familiar with games like these, it can quickly lead to awkward situations where people think they're dealing with a loiterer, potential burglar or even lunatic so I don't like to hang around waiting for someone to come bother me, and if then that one toadstool just does not show up and you've walked all that way for nothing (scurvygrass or so does not count tyvm), it becomes quite frustrating and frankly a bit disheartening. Why go to that trouble if you rarely get the expected result? Though, since city visits aren't usually a regular occurrence, I am mostly dependant on that little bit that is on offer in this rural area of mine. So I have very mixed feelings about the greenhouses. I wish they'd been a feauture of inns or so, rather than taking up a rare point of interest with very little actual chance of any spell energy the few times you manage to get there. Also expected it to be something multiple people could use. Imagine that one greenhouse in walking distance being taken up with something you normally get from the map. Bit frustrating. Better than nothing, but certainly eligible for improvement.
I planted toadstools in three greenhouses near my house yesterday and maxed them all out. 150 energy. The first one gave me 9 toadstools, and the other two only gave me 1 toadstool each. The 9 toadstools showed up immediately at the first greenhouse. At the second, which I arrived at ~10 minutes later, had only 1 toadstool. And the third also gave me only 1 toadstool. I went back and checked a little while later, to test the theory that they don't show up for awhile, but there were no more toadstools. It appears to me that there is either a cooldown for picking up peak yields, or you can only pick up 2 peaks per day (I had picked up 9 toadstools from another greenhouse about 5 hours before these three).
BTW, I got to the first greenhouse just before the toadstools were ripe and went inside to the Grow room. A message popped up and told me to go out and get the toadstools, that I had 59 minutes and 59 seconds to get them. So it appears that toadstools hang around for an hour after they ripen.
Are you sure it's limited to 2 peak yields? Last weekend I maxed on 3 greenhouses, got 26 out of 27.
If it is an hour to collect the harvest, that does sound a lot better than 30 minutes which isn't always doable. But then I wonder if maybe the harvest spreads out over that hour, in some cases anyway? Maybe that explains why we don't always get the full 9? Or even the 1, if not boosted?
Also, does anyone know, if multiple people want to share the harvest, what then? Never had the chance to test it. I thought we'd all be able to collect all of the available harvest, while a friend thinks that if one persom collects it, it won't leave anything for another.
Has anyone tried this? Would love to know how it works.
@Katavento Hmm... I always thought it was 30 mins. That’s interesting 🤔 Also you should have got the full yield from all three greenhouses, so that’s weird and not good. Are you sure the internet connection wasn’t spotty? That may have an affect. Also next time, maybe try walking around the greenhouse area for a bit if you didn’t already. If that doesn’t work maybe try restarting the app. Either way, I hope this doesn’t happen again. I would also suggest submitting a bug report in the app with details on what happened.
@FritLyreleaf You shouldn’t have to wait too long to collect your everything. It usually takes me a minute or two as long as I get to the greenhous in time. Also any wizard passing by should be able to collect all of the available harvest. So if a Toadstool was planted with max yield and 5 wizards visited the greenhouse they should all be able to get 9 leaping toadstools. If they don’t, then it’s something that needs to be reported.

Shouldn't have to wait to collect al, you say? I thought as much, it seemed counterintuitive that a game for which moving around is best, you're required to wait around for an essential part of it. But I do have to. I wait, go in and out of the greenhouse, walk around, and that is in a city with excellent coverage and as far as I can tell a continuous connection. I don't get network errors in that area with the three greenhouses. But I do hage to wait. First time I tried boosting a harvest that I might actually get to collect myself, I had to wait 17 minutes to get, I think it was 5 or 6, of the expected 9 toadstools. I am clear on the 17 minutes because I texted a friend about it, they weren't around to harvest it but had helped boost and I wanted to let them know how it had worked out.
Glad to hear we should all be able to harvest. I wish I could get out to the city one day before community day, plant and boost toadstools just in time for the event... I am sometimes quite a bit envious of citydwellers! They don't know how good they have it lol!
Ok, while I know everyone’s experience is totally valid, the op had more to do with the game nerfing the yield. For example, it used to be if you maxed toadstools to 9, each of those nine units was actually worth two, so you’d get 18 total. Other crops had individual yields per unit. There is a comment from @HPWULola regarding possible causes, so have a look in case it applies. But definitely add your experience there because it’s in the appropriate section of report a bug.
And one more thing, since I’ve seen this discussed in various places including recent comments here. I think toadstools have longer possible harvest time. Which makes sense given growing time! Pretty much everyone says 30 min for pick up of your crop, but toadstools is definitely an hour. I got a pic just to know I wasn’t crazy!
The greenhouses need to stay but go back to providing spell energy the way it was and add more of the ingredients to them..don't know about you all but I nevet use invigoration potions it does nothing that I can see but I do use all the other potions so adding more of the other potion ingredients would be better than decreasing what we get as it is after this new update. I live in a very populated area so I am lucky. But, I am still having problems getting ingredients like snowdrops and wormwood especially after the update.
Also change the growing times..7 hours is never going to work for people who have day jobs..growing toadstools is easier at 24 hours than the 7 hour ones!

@FritLyreleaf yeah, it's a real bummer! Other crops had larger yields, like x3 per unit on snowdrops I think, etc. So the drop to x1 per unit was really felt by people who relied on the greenhouses for their ingredients.
I started playing, the day or shortly after the day, that it came out in the Netherlands, but I was unable to return to greenhouses for the harvest so I never had any idea just how great of a benefit it was. And it's only since about a month ago that I've had a few chances to boost yields so I never knew that was supposed to be 2x9 for the toadstools. Does make more sense though, for those hard won 50 SE you'd expect more, 18 sounds fairer than 9.
Right?! Many are still pondering this change... lol

With regards to the yields, I hope they go back to how it was, particularly for the toadstools. It would be nice to get 2 for each one picked up again. Let’s see what happens.
