Portmanteaus Recycling ?

I think everyone is suffering without an option to recycle portmanteaus just like me. For instance, my portkey capacity is filled with 10km and 5km portmanteaus, because of that I won’t be able to play for the upcoming dragon egg event, very sadly. I wish if we had an in-game option to recycle the portmanteaus that we don’t need. :(

    Right there with ya, @LordAR0W

Doing the 3K for obvious reasons, but once those are completed, I will have 3 empty slots that I will do my best to keep empty going forward. At least the dragon keys are only 1K so I'm hoping for rapid turn around on those.

I'm thinking that if you have at least 1 spot open, and you have your gold key free, you'll be fine. I mean even if I get all my spots open, I don't want to pay for keys, so I'm still not even sure how I'm going to make this work myself. I'm trying to see if I'll free up my gold key by tomorrow, which seems doable, and I do have 4 silver keys on me I think... but it kind of feels awful "wasting" them on 1k portkeys? Maybe that's just me...

I'm right there with you, @JulieJubz. Yesterday, realizing I still had close a full deck of portmanteaus that needed to be unlocked, I felt a sense of urgency. After thinking about it for a while though, I don't really intend to use my silver keys on the 1k portmanteaus, so having just a couple spots open is more than adequate.

Well... with any luck, they'll toss us a gift packet with some keys in it as well. For an event like this, they really really should.

@Acumen yeah I've been seeing a lot of people freaking out about opening the spaces, but I don't think there's anything they'll (as in the game) do especially to let us open these portkeys. Especially since they currently have that key and energy deal going in the shop...

In a sense I think they're mainly trying to sell keys, which I don't blame them for! Gotta make money some way. but I'll try and work as best as possible with my golden one, haha.

In support of the sentiment expressed in the original post though, we really should be able to manage portmanteaus just like all our other inventory items. I suppose I can understand why they've restricted our ability to manage portmanteau inventory, but that doesn't mean I agree with it. In fact, I think it's pretty lame.

@admins please Please pLeAsE create a way for us to discard portmanteaus!

OR... make it so we can see which ones are which on the map so we can choose what we want to pick up.

I usually finish the brilliant events within a couple days and then have to refrain from collecting Any portmanteaus for 5 days for fear of getting more brilliant ones.. where I would rather focus on 2ks, 5ks, and especially 10ks instead.

    Ty!

I understand the frustration you feel, it's tough when you feel unable to complete the tasks.

Between the gift and the daily treasure we received 6 silver keys. This should have permitted most people to clear out portmanteaus (as has oft been self reported.) There was also a special that allowed you to be an additional set.

But in truth this goes back to the two part brilliant event. Most of us were preparing ourselves ahead of week 1 for a portkey based assignment. I know I didn't pick up any portmanteaus between week 1 and 2 so that I would have space to pick up brilliants. During week 2, the announcement was made about eggs and I stopped picking anything beyond my required brilliants.

It is possible, with bad luck, that you picked up 5s and 10s and not brilliants during week 2. Bad luck is part of any game with randomness, but in this case it can be overcome by walking more.

If we could delete portmanteaus then the randomness of what you get when you pick them up off the map would be negated. I wouldn't need to plan for the event, just react. In regular play I could just delete all the 2km and just work on the higher distance portmanteaus.

I like the work and strategy that goes into preparing for the events, and while I would be discouraged if I was in your shoes I would rather that than a game that is too simple and can always be overcome.

I can appreciate that the randomness is part of the gameplay but it's harder if you have mobility issues to 'walk' the portmanteaus. I have a couple of issues so I have to rely on deserted parking lots very early in the morning 😎 . Sometimes I have to remind myself ... This is a game for fun. When it stops being fun, it becomes one more obligation. Until then, accept what I can and enjoy!

My mechanism for dealing with portmanteau is to keep 4 completed but unopened in my suitcase. That was I'm not seeing the map covered with them and accidentally picking up ones that I don't want.

It also means that as soon as an event starts, I can open the 4 and have a reasonable chance at picking up enough event specific portkeys that I'm not struggling.

As soon as the event finishes I can build my stock back up again. A week is usually enough time for me to plan ahead for this, although I must admit I was a bit caught out by the dragon event running concurrently with the brilliant event. Fortunately the dragon portkeys are so distinctive it's not a problem to pick the ones you need.

Now to find a way of actually getting credited for something like the correct distance walked so I can unlock a bunch of them.

I would vote for not having such feature. Players should not be able to selectively choose which Portmanteaus they want to keep. Random makes the game much more interesting.
