I went into a Cricket location yesterday in Portland, OR to ask about WU, since Cricket locations are listed as sponsors in the game, and it encourages you to come in. I was told that they are not participating due to the owner's religious beliefs. I was amused/bewildered/outraged. haha
I feel like they should not be advertised as a sponsor if that's their stance! Maybe they shouldn't be a fortress at all... I contacted Cricket customer service, and all they said was to go to a different location.
Anyone else had this issue? Where can I report this to Niantic? Thanks!

LOL, as a native Portlander, I'm dying right now!! LOL When you go to the fortress, does it have that message about getting a deal in the store, and to visit? If so, either the owner doesn't have any trouble taking your business, even though it's through the game, or are they literally turning potential customers away because of the game? I don't know how Niantic would handle this, but it's really too funny.
@Dogoutlaw Yes, it was listed as a sponsored location, and said to come in for a deal! These people... The employee made it sound like the owner ran multiple Cricket locations in the area, so I'm not sure. He said, "We aren't allowed to put up any of the signs, or participate at all". This conversation took place right at the door, and I didn't go in after that. haha
@RetroRode I'm thinking a bunch of wizards should get together in full costume and take on the fortress! LOL Take some butterbeers and pumpkin pasties as well, make a full day of it. LOL Doesn't surprise me he owns multiple locations, that's fairly common I think. too bad they're not carrying anything related though. My AT&T store has a display up, but it's filled with GOT stuff, hardly anything for HP! Was a bit of a disappointment as well.

Niantic will be unable to do anything about it. But personally, I'd pass the word around that CRICKET is bigoted in Portland - on Facebook, on Twitter, on every social media platform you can... and TAG CRICKET! See how long it doesn't take before they offer you something. And also, see how long it takes for that bigot to start losing business. I... hate... bigots (how's that for irony?)!!

As far as I can tell you're not missing anything. I've been to multiple AT&T and Cricket stores. If you switch to AT&T you can get an in game bonus. At Cricket you were supposed to be able to enter to win a trip to New York but there was no way to do it except online. No HPWU bonus.
I couldn't even get a Gryffindor Pop socket for my witch. (But plenty of game of thrones junk)
At least when AT&T were inns they were generous.

@Craeft Yes! Bigots are the worst.
I saw a girl on Facebook say she got a free portable charger when she went into a ATT fortress, so I was hoping I'd get that lucky.
Tell them that turning water into wine is magic too...
