Posting links in forum
Hi there @ll,
to promote a local group I would like to a link in the post that also generates the map-entry. However, the forum softwar etells me that I am not allowed to do so (have to be around longer). Now what may I do? Create spam posts just have a higher number of posts?

Since bots can be used to spam forums with irrelevant links, it's fairly common to limit a restrict a user's ability to share links until certain conditions are met, like rank earned. That said, it does seem sort of odd that your ability to pin the community map is also limited, though there's probably a good reason for it.
You've followed the instructions by creating a new discussion under the 'Local Groups and Events' category? Within the body of your post, you've typed the location within double brackets?
These are the instructions for pinning a location to the Community Map:
1. Navigate to "Gameplay Discussion > Local Groups and Events".
2. Create a new discussion, and give it a short but descriptive title like "Haifa Community".
3. Within the body of the post, along with information about your community and/or event, type the location within double brackets, like so: [[Haifa, Israel]]
If you still get a message stating you are not allowed to share links, then yes, it appears you'll have to level up in the forum user ranking system first.
@Seekerlore hi! It looks like your pin worked fine on the map. I believe it typically takes a week to get the two star rating, when you’ll be able to post links. Even if you were to post a bunch of comments, that may not speed up the process. You don’t earn points simply by posting. So it’s your choice. Of course you’re welcome to read and comment on the forum. Or you can just check back in a week and see if you’ve received two stars on your profile. Then you can comment on your original thread with the link and people will be able to see it.
Nice @Dogoutlaw! I didn't even think to check first and make sure the user's attempt to pin to the map actually worked.
@Dogoutlaw @Acumen thanks for your feedback. I was indeed only asking regarding the link. The pin was no issue.
In the guideline post it states (just found it):
For me it is not working... after 2 1/2 weeks the user ranking has not increased.
@Seekerlore I saw that after my post. I asked an admin in another thread to clarify the two star requirement and was going to respond here. Hopefully I’ll have an answer soon, but I know they’re busy with the upcoming events as well.
@Dogoutlaw for whatever reason I just got promoted to second level..
@Seekerlore 😂😂 I liked a couple of your posts/comments to give you a couple of points! I wondered if that would do the trick. Guess so. Happy linking!
Thanks @Dogoutlaw
Came to this community to add to the community map.
Turns out I need stars to share the link to my community :s
Can I have some stars too please?
You should be good to go now @Travahar.
I am also trying to share our local community. What do I need to do to be able to post links?
@jebume it looks like you should be able to post links. If you already have a thread in the Local Groups area here:
https://community.harrypotterwizardsunite.com/en/categories/local-groups-and-events
just make a comment on your thread with the link. If you don't have a comment there yet, I encourage you to make one that will pin the map in your area, and then include the link. That map, when working, makes it fairly easy to find people. Good luck and happy wizarding!
@Dogoutlaw I posted our group now. Thanks for your help!
