Exploration Registry Pages

I hope this is the proper place for this discussion, but it's something that needs to be discussed.

After finishing the latest special event, I noticed that the Special Event registry pages were very different from the Exploration pages.  For the Special Event pages, the more common foundables have a higher collection requirement than the rarer foundables.  The Brilliant Students from each house were at a 10 count each, while the trolley foundable from the portkeys had a 5 count.  This made sense, not just for the limited time of the event, but in general gameplay.  The more common spawns should have the higher count requirement.

But then there's the Exploration pages.  In each Family of Traces there is only one page that makes the same play as the Special Events, and are probably the only pages anyone has prestiged.  The other pages make no sense whatsoever.  For example, under the Care of Magical Creatures Family, the last page has the Hippogriff (High)  with a count of 8, the three Mediums (Baby Unicorn, Dragon Egg, and Blast Ended Skrewt) have a count of 4 each, Firenze (Severe) with a count of 11, and Puffskein (Portkey only)with a count of 15 .  The more common spawns have such a lower count required compared to the rares... and this is just to make it to the first Prestige.  2 out of 3 pages in every Family does this same thing.

Why isn't it the other way around?  Why aren't the Mediums set at a count of 15, the Highs set at 11, Severe at 8, and the Portkey at 4?  They'll still be difficult to complete, but they actually can be completed.

At the current settings, I am skipping so many of those Mediums because they don't give enough XP after the count is complete, and I can't waste the limited energy on completed counts.

I understand where you're coming from, and many players share the same frustration you've expressed here. On a positive note, the family XP has just been increased across the board (from low to emergency) on foundables with max fragments, so that's a pretty significant improvement to the player experience. With the last update, it also appears they're listening to these complaints and taking steps to adjust the spawn rates for some of the more elusive foundables.

Personally, I'm okay with the current encounter rates and registry requirements. I do not feel that the count requirements for special events should also be the same in general gameplay for the game to be enjoyable. These are just my feelings though, and yours are still perfectly valid. My only advice is try to remember it's just a game. The world won't end if it takes quite a long time to prestige all the pages to gold level frames, and there are no special rewards a player misses out on before having done so.

You make a compelling argument, and just to drive your point home, here is a sample of what you mean...

At this rate, it'll be awhile before I prestige this frame. With that being said, they just very recently buffed family XP count for fragments received above and beyond what's required to place an image. That and the fact I am always hunting for high level runestones keeps me returning anything I can get my hands on in an effort to rank up families as quickly as I can.

    "It's not a bug, it's a feature".

It is unfortunately an easy way to make the game last longer with no added work required.
