How to add new fortress location?

How do you get a new location added as a Fortress? My library building is brand new and so it didn't exist when Pokemon Go was created. Most of the area libraries have a fortress and I'd love our to be added. Ideas?

    Currently, this is done through an in-app submission process in both Ingress and Pokemon Go. You must be at a certain player level or above to submit requests in both those games. As I understand it, only Ingress players of a certain level can review and approve new POI requests. If you haven't reached a high level in either of those games, your best bet is to befriend someone who has. They can submit new location requests for you. I imagine they'll add the ability to to submit in-app POI (point of interest) requests in HPWU eventually, but can't say for certain. Currently, players only have the ability to edit or remove existing POIs. This is done in the game by going to your suitcase, click the settings icon at the upper left of your screen, tap "Get Support", then choose "Inns, Greenhouse, and Landmarks."

    We, as part of the opr community, can approve poi following certain guidelines.

    But we can not decide if it's going to be a fortress, inn or greenhouse.

    I've definitely been wondering about this myself. We have three different malls here in town, and only one of them has a fortress, which seams a bit weird to me. I'd think adding a fortress there would be perfect for rainy days! Plus a much safer place to meet new players :)

    I also wish I could get a fortress where I live. In Pokego there's actually a gym here, and you constantly see people surrounding the place, which I think is great for our little square and the businesses around. But in WU it's just inns.

    Honestly I'm not complaining, but since there's so few people playing this game in town... I think more fortresses could help out!

    I hope this gets added soon. Im an RN at the huge tertiary care hospital in my province and both fortresses are out on the street and not accessible from any of the inpatient areas. Good collection of inns and greenhouses tho, but would be nice for the kids/parents (and staff who carry emergency pagers and cannot leave the building even on breaks!) to be able to play!

    We need a POI, preferably a fortress &/or inn at the Miejers store in Evansville, IN. There’s a pokemon go POI there but not for hpwu. Makes shopping a bummer. This would make shopping way more fun. 🤨🤪🙂😃

    I would love to have the Little Free Library in front of my house added as a POI. There are very few POIs in my neighborhood, and I think it would be a great asset, as well as promoting reading and the exchange of books for people who visit the Little Free Library to play WU. I've never played pokemon go, so I can't request it through that. If there is a way that I can request it, I would truly appreciate being told how I can go about placing the request.

    So there’s no way to determine whether a POI will become an inn or a greenhouse or a fortress?
