I already made a post about the economy of wizardsunite and how the risk vs reward don’t match up, but as a broke arse freelancer living in a third world country who really wants to play the game, I humbly request you drop the prices of things like vault extensions or dark detectors or missing ingredients like the powdered dragon claw.

LoL, @Zakhi, yeah before I realized that was a typo I was like, "Is this person insane?" I get what you're saying though @LeFayeofAlbion. It would be nice to at least see an occasional deal of some sort to make the in-app purchases more accessible to those with very limited funds.
They give us so much gold for free. You can get a vault extension every two weeks just by doing your daily tasks.
If you play every day you will have earned 100s of gold from the daily gift.
I have not spent money on the game (wish I had bought the Hufflepuff robes early on.)
I totally agree with @Osprey1 to be honest. I will absolutely admit that, when the game first launched, I was actually one of the people who was mad at Niantic having different prices for things than PokeGo (I'm talking about spending real money in this case. You pay $10 on WU to get 900 gold, while in PokeGo you spend $10 and get 1,200 coins -- that seemed like a crazy difference to me).
But as the first month of the game went on, I had no problem acquiring gold without spending anything! I've been able to get the 475 gold extension three or four times now? It's been wonderful. So, definitely giving credit where credit is due...
I have a personal rule where, when I'm playing a game that's essentially free like this one, I allow myself to spend as much money on it as I would if I were to buy a physical game. I think so far I've only spend $2 on WU (not even sure if I HAVE done that...) because I haven't needed anymore (I do dailies.. on the daily, haha).
I'm actually totally waiting for them to do a good offer for $10 bucks again so I can buy one. I'm a little sad that I missed the original ones, but I did it because I kept waiting for a better one to pop up, thinking it would be something they'd at least do for big events like community day.
Anyway, I swear I totally understand what you're talking about @LeFayeofAlbion, I'm a freelancing artist from Brazil! Right now the dollar is literally 4x my money (and I'm not sure where you're from, so for you it could be even worse). But I do believe the game has been even more generous than PokeGo, so hopefully that helps you feel a little better too.
I commented a reply but apparently the mods didn’t like it. I don’t remember everything I said, but yeah it’s about 10x and I’m like, I can order out for a whole week with that. Or more if I was resourceful.
Hmmm, if you compare the gold to Pogo coins you'll be sad so I suggest not doing it. ;)
Even with free gold given as the occasional foundable return we're talking 10 gold compared with 50 coins.
So you can have a free 10 spell energy increase every 15 days. Compared to 4 days for a 50 slot upgrade.

Average anount of returns per item:
Gold 231.83
Strong Extulimo Potion 107.0
Silver Key 695.5
Dark Detector 695.5
You can't include the gold from levelling up as they get longer, I need 280,000 xp for this level. That will take me 2-3 weeks for 10 gold. Each level will take longer.
@LeFayeofAlbion yeah the exchange rate between the dollar in other countries like ours is absolutely horrible, so I absolutely understand. But I do hope you're fairing well with the gold they do give us!
@WerewolfChaser Oh man, those stats are cool to see. Is this from since the very beginning of you playing the game? Also, are you a beta player?
@JulieJubz, I mean, for comparison, the cost of 12,000 gold from Gringotts in real world money is almost as much as the monthly salary I got while I was working in an office as a junior chitrct before I had to quit because of health issues. So, you know.

Fund fact: Video games are so expensive in Brazil, that Nintendo officially pulled out and doesn't sell games directly here anymore. Can't even blame them. 😰
