You have 1hr after you post before it's permanent to make any edits and there is no way for a member to delete a post or discussion. All information is eternal to help and assist new players! Of course first we have to teach them how to search the forums for that information...
It would be nice to be able to remove our friend codes when we end up with too many friend requests! I did try requesting my post to be deleted but didn't get a response from @hpwulola .

You can edit within the first hour of post submission.
After that, post a comment in that thread with a request to edit/delete to @HPWULola

@Zexpe You can re-create your friend code, thereby invalidating your old one. That will remove the need for your post to be deleted.

@Zexpe the easiest way to slow /stop the overwhelming friends request after posting your number is to change your friend code!
