Potions for community day

Hi all,
Just wanted to check how I'm doing compared to others & if im on right track with my prep for tomorrow. Any advice gratefully received 😊
So in prep now I've stocked up more than other professions might on healing cos as an Auror we really need these & if I'm playing solo as seems to be the case atm, then il go thru them so quickly- glad of the extra brew reduction, increased ingredients & increased power of these for tomorrow!
Ive got
28 healing, 8 Exstimulo, 14 strong Exst, 2 potent Exst, 6 Baruffios to cover the 3hrs, 1 wit sharp (figured may not meet Elite foes & if do will wing it lol), 5 invigoration draughts, 1 strong invigoration.
So with the time left in cauldrons i have 7hrs brewing time b4 the event, and then will still have the rental cauldron thru the event for extra healing.
Im thinking to squeeze in 2 more strong exstimulo to help reduce spell energy use? Invigoration just adds focus which il probs be ok for.
Or i could squeeze in 2 more wit potion instead in case of Elite foes.
How does my planning sound? What have u guys done? Have a made a right hash of it!? Lol

This is probably the wrong strategy, but I have my potions kind of spread out. I have 10 Healing (and will probably be using both Cauldrons to make tons and tons during the event),
11 regular Exstimulo and 10 Strong Exstimulo to help with not burning through energy as much. I wish I had some potent, but couldn’t find any unicorn hair.
I will be only brewing Strong invigoration after this event, but currently have 11 strong and 11 regular invigoration. I will use a lot of these since my initial focus is still 2 and my proficiency charm costs 7 focus, so I will burn through these very quickly.
I have 11 wit-sharpening for the elites, which I think we will encounter a lot of, and only 2 baruffios because I can’t find any toadstool.
not as prepared as I would like...but it will have to do.
I currently have:
4 wit sharpening
12 potent exstimulo
6 strong invigoration (and I'm making more)
19 Baruffio's (this is just from leveling up, lol. I didn't actually make them)
15 strong Exstimulo
27 healing potion.
I finally found a group of people that I can do fortresses with, and when we all battled together, a lot of us kept dying and needing to wait those 30 seconds. So I figured strategy wise, I should have a LOT of healing potion this time around. I also don't believe I'll be seeing that many elite foes, so I didn't bother in making more wit potions. I never actually used any exstimulo potions inside fortresses, but now I'm curious to do so.
Strong invigoration draught is the one I figured would be the most useful since we only have one auror in the group and he doesn't always show up. So at least this way I can help everyone else out with protection spells :)
I might also try and make more healing potions so I can just use them tomorrow without thinking twice about it, and then I'll just start making more during the event with the normal cauldron :)
Thanks guys, that makes me feel better- cos being an auror about to hit lvl 27 with both hexes maxed i think i did right on not bothering too much with the invigoration potions.
Plus the needing lots of healing in advance you've kindly confirmed to be a must @JulieJubz & having the extra cauldron rented @Overflow4487 for the event seems to be a good idea.
I wish had more time to brew potent exstimulo, but i read somewhere that the diff between that & strong isnt enough to make it worth that much extra brewing time if you're in a rush- as we are lol!
So it's the wit sharpening that is just the tricky decision between that & strong exstimulo for the time i have b4 event. I think after reading your comments I'll split it, just in case of elite foes. Plus i can always brew a quick one in rental cauldron if run out.

@AuroraKadavra I would absolutely love teaming up!! Wish we could ❤️ I think you have a good strategy going with your potions, and I hope if you end up playing with a lot of people, that there’s enough different professions around so you guys can try different things :)

I think you're on the right track @AuroraKadavra! Sounds like you're very well prepared. As a Professor, I've also brewed plenty of healing potion because I plan to try and tackle some new levels. I've got lots of exstimulo potion of all varieties to help with tougher foes, and some wit sharpening potion too. I also have plenty of strong invigoration draught, but probably won't use it if I'm playing solo since my initial focus is +4. If I play with a team though, I'll use it at the start of each challenge to show off my proficiency charm! It's supposed to be over 100° F (38° C) tomorrow though, so I'm not sure if any other players will be willing to brave the heat.
Thanks @Acumen - think im as prepd as can be now. We have opposite here in uk its grey & miserable, raining on & off so people might not want b standing around getting wet & cold. Il b looking at everyone in their cars lol- just to see if seem like playing- bit awkward that tho- gotta try & look like im not looking in case they just parked lol. Spose the fortress glow can help give me an idea too.
Anyway, even if solo im ready & raring.

Save your daily 10 spell energy for fortresses and good luck. I managed 4 challenge levels after joining the Melbourne group (approx 20 people)

This is a really interesting thread! I've never used Exstimulo potions in Fortress Battles, so I didn't concentrate on those. LOL
I'm starting with
10 Wit-Sharpening Potion
10 Healing Potion
15 Invigoration Draught
10 Strong Invigoration Draught
10 Exstimulo potions
10 Strong Exstimulo potions
7 Potent Exstimulo potions
@WerewolfChaser thanks for tips! I was worried about wit sharpening... will have 4 going in. Since hubby is magizoo, will be trying out his elite foe charm when needed.
I think your CD is over now, hope it was good.
But yeah, running out of wit sharpening and finding an elite that you're weak against wasn't the highlight of the of my day.
My group made me do it to hit hard!
Oh I know! I had Elite Imposing DE the other day... took me FOREVER as a prof.
Lol- hey @WerewolfChaser - do you think i should have brewed some wit sharpening!? 😂 sorry- couldn't resist with your comment being posted 4 times hahaha. I actually got chance to brew 3 & thankfully only encountered 3 elite foes!
I finally got 3 formidable pixies! Woohoo!!!
I went through my healing potions & just abot had enough with the extra quick rental cauldron. That was a godsend.
Also managed to catch a Tom Riddle so was chuffed with that.
Next time i go in lvl 11- forest chsmber 1, im gonna make sure i have 10 potent exstimulo- 2 for each foe- @SamuelHaight they mske huge difference. And 2/ 3 healing for each foe & i should be able to crack it i hope.
Today definitely gave me a much better insight into best methods to use in higher towers, though I did have to play solo, so i only got bout 10,000 xp from the event.
I wish I could have been part of a group , but it was still fun solo
Plus i levelled up to 27 just 5 min before event started so was chuffed.
Only needed to do 2 energy runs for event. So overall everything worked well i think. Just wish I could have got more xp!
Much to my surprise, two other people showed up to do some team fortress challenges with me today! It was scorching hot outside, but we still had fun. Managed to collect 12 spell books in three hours. All three of us were professors, so we didn't have the diversity advantage, but having three of us still definitely made things easier. Before today, I had only made it to Forest Level 2 but today I was able to beat Forest Level 4. I think it'll be a while before I attempt that one solo though. I blew through pretty much my entire pile of potions. 12 of each variety of exstimulo, 15 healing potions, 5 wit sharpening potions, and 8 strong invigoration draughts! It'll take two weeks to recover my stock, and that's only if I don't use any during that time.
I only have 4 healing potions left after the event! Wow. I’m glad I was so well prepared for this. I didn’t want to fall to zero, so I didn’t use the last four, even though I could have.
But this gives me a really good idea for what to do next time :)
I got lucky today. Hubby was there ofc (would have dragged him there whether he liked it or not lol), one friend showed, then another, and then a fifth I met back in June found us, so we had five for about an hour. Two magizoos and three profs. I never used ANY potions except my baruffio’s. The fifth guy was high level magizoo, so his charms kept us alive, along with hubby’s help. He also cast the elite foe charm if any showed up, so didn’t even need wit sharpening. I know it’s best to be prepared, but now I have a bunch of potions I don’t often use. Lol
Dang it, I commented, then edited because my number of spell books was wrong (forgot I already had three) and now my comment is stuck in approval purgatory. I think I’ll go get FroYo now. It was hot out there!

@Acumen it sounds like u had gr8 time & made good use of stock, i needed all of my potions was dry by end being a solo auror is tough man!!! 😂
@Dogoutlaw that was so cool with the magiz with you saving all your potions! Awesome day! What was the xp like? I did tower V solo & the xp wasn't great- defo not worth the potions it cost me! When u get the victory as a group do you all get the full xp or is it shared?
Today im on bout 15 energy, bout same gold & virtually empty potions! Wiped out! Lol
This week will be a replenish week, only low enought chambers to not need potions! Got my Baruffio of course but thats all.
Thanks @Dogoutlaw, I did enjoy the experience! Totally jealous you were able to play with a diverse team! I would definitely LOVE the opportunity to play with both a higher level Magizoologist and Auror one day. I know one of each, but they don't know each other, so herding them to the same spot for some team-play will be a challenge! Even playing with one of them would be cool though, because I haven't done a fortress challenge with a player of a different profession since the first couple weeks after the game was released. It seems like most of the active players in my community are professors!
@AuroraKadavra, it sounds like you had a pretty great day with getting to finally complete a difficult SOS assignment, leveling up, and racking up a decent amount of XP! It sounds like all of us are in the same boat with potions. I made it rain yesterday, and now my inventory looks sad, like a large bookshelf with only two trashy romance novels and a lot of dust.
Today, I think I'll spend some time updating the WU World Map. It's not very accurate at all for my city, but it's getting there with a lot of work from me and another local player who introduced me to the map. I think all the possible POIs were imported from the Ingress map, and those POIs may or may not exist in HPWU. Even if they do, they still need to be labeled as correct type (inn, greenhouse, fortress, or flag). It's tedious work (basically data entry) that doesn't help me at all in the game itself, but I like to think it'll help new or traveling witches and wizards quickly identify the best spots in town to play. Honestly though, even if no one else in town ever looks at the map, I still enjoy doing it for the same reason I enjoy playing HPWU: It gives me something to do while I'm out and about.
@AuroraKadavra xp was great I thought. I goofed at first and forgot baruffios, so was getting half what everyone else was getting. Once I had that going, 👌🏻 Five friends on Tower III, 1396 xp. Tower IV gave 1618 xp. Tower II was 1182 xp. As far as I can tell, everyone gets their xp, not shared. When we lost a player after about an hour, Tower II gave 984 xp. We stayed around there for rest of time to help hubby get his formidable pixies. That seemed to be the sweet spot for our group.
@Acumen it’s pretty cool, and as a gamer noob, seeing how the different roles work together is really awesome. If we had an auror, would’ve been even better, but really, I’m not complaining! And I know what you mean. We have a couple friends that started playing, so friended them, but never get to play with them. One is bartender, so practically opposite hours than us. The other is always busy, and not die hard player. But the stars aligned yesterday. Bartender had good hours, so could join us, and the other said he might play and in the end came out for the first hour. And said he had a great time and will do it again next time. 😃😃 since I don’t know many players in the area, not sure of the mix. I have run into a couple who are both aurors. Wish we saw them yesterday, but no sign.
