Has anyone been successful in changing their codename? Every time I try I get “server validation failed, please restart your game or try again later.” after hitting Confirm. I’ve tried on iPhone, iPad and an Android phone.
I have a belief that Niantic makes name changes hard to discourage purchasing accounts and the feeling of anonymity that leads to poor behavior via online disinhibition.

Same here. I sent an error report to Niantic but of course nothing has changed...So frustrating.
I would report this via in app help.

I changed my game name a couple of days after it was introduced.
When you're finally successful you need to sign out of this forum and sign back in if you want your name changed in here too.
