@Lucoire - It would be considered a nerf because pink inns have the lowest rewards. Therefore, it means that those inns had been downgraded (aka nerfed).
I have some here (Puddifoots) that very rarely give Honeyduke's bar, but most offer only three SE items (tea and cake). Three Broomsticks is definitely better on average. But to the original OP's post, if you're in an inn dense area, it might make sense for the change. Trying to even things out.
My opinion is they're trying to "even things out" by going the wrong direction (if that is their intent). With spell energy being the biggest complaint regarding this game, taking some away from dense areas instead of giving more to sparse areas is the wrong way to go. I'm not saying this to be hyperbolic. I've been gaming long enough to know that it will drive people away. When they can't get the main necessary resource in a game, they will move on to something else without much hesitation.
@DrPants Could you check if there have been new POI added in your area?
From what I've seen so far, the type of +Energy-POI in an area depends on the overall density of POI in that specific area. If the density of energy-sources increases, the type of energy-sources may change to keep the "Energy per Area" coefficient the same.
@Lucoire I live in a small town with 25-30 Inns within 30min walking distance of one another. The majority are Ministry's with probably 5 or 6 Broomsticks. Within a 15min driving distance I can add an extra ~10 Weasleys. The surrounding area is extremely rural with little to no POIs though. If they're basing it off of the Ingress Regions then I feel the energy to area might be the case but otherwise I believe it is random.
@Lucoire I'm surprised someone hasn't combed through the data and posted it on reddit yet. Of course I'm more surprised we don't have a web based map for our POIs like Ingress and POGO have...
@CytopeAchen I have an Idea as to why neither PoGO nor WU have an Ingame-Map of their own similar to Ingress. Keep in mind that this pure speculation:
The Ingress map "Intel" (intel.ingress.com/intel) is ancient.
It hasn't aged very well, the graphics rendering and server-client-communication is extremely unperformant given the intense amounts of data it has to compute.
It is quite ressource-intense when it comes to serverside hardware - as can be seen during Anomalies (mass-scale competitive Events in Ingress with over 1000 of concurrent players in the same city). The Site then tends to time out or take several minutes to load.
A massive downside of the server-client-communication is that the server has to have an API that the website can use to request data. In Pokemon GO, that API has been misused to violate the Terms of Service on a previously unexpected scale - to create "unofficial" maps or to guide bots.
Based on that "history", I find it very unlikely that we'll see a map of ingame "things" in the near or far future.
I keep thinking that someone should be at the receiving end of a strongly-worded Howler by Molly Weasley, explaining that people do NOT leave her house hungry, and that anything else than a full meal from an inn modelled after her home is unacceptable.
It's possible that it's a glitch. I sent off a panicky 'please put this fortress back in the game!' message when the one I usually use in the park vanished & the nearest one was a sponsored phone store on the high street. I assumed they were removing stuff from game to boost foot traffic to sponsored locations and was politely begging them to reconsider as it's far too busy to easily stop outside the sponsored fortress. However, when I restarted the app, the fortress returned!
I hadn't come across that bug before, but now I know that glitches like that can happen I'll probably wait and see if they still exist after logging on & off and maybe rebooting my phone!
Interestingly, the reply I got to my report was clearly a bot, as it said 'I can see you are concerned about...' and listed something I hadn't been talking about. So, their algos need work!
kinda bummed - this week, a cluster of three green-roofed inns (located in an area even more rural than the area where we live) became blue-roofed inns ... no more turkey - chicken dinners. not sure why that would happen.

What makes you think that a conversion from blue to pink is a "nerf"?
(also, maybe it is a POI-dense area, so it would be reasonable to assume that there is a reason for the change?)

@Craeft Oh, you refer to the "Ministry A" Inn as "Pink". That makes sense, I thought he was talking about "Puddifoots" 😅
Puddifoot's is the pink inn.
It only offers X3 energy.

@Craeft Puddifoot offers Honeyduke's (6e), Violet Pudding (3e) and Afternoon Tea (3e),
whereas Ministry A only offers Pumpkin Juice (3e) and Tomato Soup (3e)
Do you have a reference of when that was updated, @Lucoire ?
I ask because that's different from the above reference.

@Craeft No, I don't. And quite frankly, I haven't even seen any change in my hood so it'll take a while to get any data on changes 😅

@CytopeAchen It would be interesting to know, which S2-Cell-Level these coefficients are based on 🤔

@kiheikid It is reasonably well understood why Inns in a certain S2-Cell are what color.
In short, if the Inns in a S2-cell are downgraded it is because more POI were added to that cell.
