Can't login to the game via Facebook just now, was on fine about an hour ago but now it won't load. Facebook seems to be working on though - anyone else having this same problem?
App not set up: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.
Also can't log in. Was fine earlier. It kicked me back to the birth date page. When I tried logging in via fb, I got no result, and when I tried through google, it told me "Welcome back!" but I was back at the beginning.
Appreciate any help! My screen name in game is LunaTwinsley.

Having same issues too. Also, I accidentally re-registered under my Google and Apple accounts when this happened the last time and now I cannot link it to my Google or Apple log-in. Does anyone know how to solve this?

@SeptimaLupin your best bet would be to make a separate post on this forum, or to contact support in-game once this FB issue is resolved. I know a player who had a similar issue - they were locked out of their HP:WU account for over a week, but eventually it was resolved, so it is possible.

I'm having this same issue... and also played a few hours ago just fine. Now I'm getting the birthdate screen; then login using Facebook - and the login screen loads again.
I uninstalled Facebook to try to login manually ( I don't know what this means, but read it is a potential fix). Then I get the app not setup screen that @UnicornMom17 posted above.

In the meantime, if you've linked other login methods to your account (Google for example), please try using it to log in.
Note: If you haven't linked another login method yet (Example: Google) and still try to log in using it. You will end up creating a new Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
Another Niantic game (Ingress) had a similar issue about a week ago. The workaround back then was to link your Niantic account to Google or Apple using another Niantic game:
Log into Pokémon GO, Ingress or Pikmin Bloom using Facebook credentials you use for HP:WU.
Use that other game to link your account to Google or Apple.
Log in to HP:WU using Google or Apple.
Disclaimer - I did not personally test this workaround as I already have my Niantic account linked to Google. Please report here whether or not it works for you.
I don't even get the "development mode" error message; on mine, when i tap the FB icon to try to login, i very quickly see an FB loading-icon in the middle of the screen (for like 1/10th of a second) and then it bounces straight back to the FB / Google selector. I wish I could transfer my account to a Google login (or have it tied to both), it's so stupid that it has to be either/or.
@Youshallnotpaz how can we be sure that it won't reset our progress? I tried logging using Gmail account last year and it created a new account. It is a level 1 player which I've never used. What is the chance this won't "merge" the accounts and take the level 1 user?
I’m also having this same issue and have tried even to update my Facebook password and reinstalled the game multiple times. But still get this message. I’m not even the developer! Being trying for nearly 3 hours now…. What’s the progress and solution? Moderator Please help.
I don't play other Niantic games so I can't use the workaround. Since it's nearly midnight for me and won't be able to collect my rewards, I hope we get some in-game compensation.
@RobGobe no matter what you do your progress wont reset, unless you deliberately delete your hpwu account so don't worry.

did you try to login to harry potter or a different game (pgo, ingress)? because @cosk62 is suggesting you to login/ create a new account not in harry potter but different niantic game. if you still don't quite understand it, try explain what you understood so far and i'll try to steer you in the right direction

Seems like a widespread issue. I reported the same problem, and there are countless posts about it on FB
Just got kicked out mid-fortress and am having the same issue.

When I select FB this error comes up.
So I am unable to log in.

I’m receiving this error. I can’t sign on here with my FB account.
It seems that there is an issue signing in with Facebook again. The workaround of deleting FB doesn’t resolve the problem.
The error says the app won’t s still in development mode (see attached).
It is a widespread issue based on the number of posts I’m seeing as a moderator for one of the larger HPWU FB groups.
