Extend Reachable Distance for Inns, Greenhouses, Fortresses to Match Pokémon Go
Since most of the Inns, Greenhouses and Fortresses share location with Pokémon Go, it would greatly enhance the experience for those of us who play both games if all were reachable from the same spot. Currently, there are some features that cannot be safely accessed w/o trespassing, so I often reach gyms and pokestops in places where I just have to pass on playing Wizards Unite. Frustrating!

Oh god here we go… we all know how this went for Pokémon GO. I think considering the amount of energy we get into the ground and compared to pokestop v inns, and combining gifts, the distance is just fine.
I have to disagree.
The point of the Wizards Unite, Pokemon Go and Ingress gaming is to explore landmarks and the environment around you, to inspire an active lifestyle, and generally to experience gaming in the outdoors.
While I totally understand Covid 19 did hugely impact us and is still a cause for concern in some countries we aren't all in the same hardcore situation as last year. The action ring was extended due to the conditions of covid, but we should also consider that movement is also key to a healthy lifestyle.
From a Point of Interest, we should be able to see the next POI in the map. Otherwise, for me, the next POI is most likely too far to walk to.
As an example is my friend's place where I can see the inns on the map but not the fortress (on a park) and a greenhouse (inside a country club/golf course). The park I have walked to but needed someone to pick me up (over a couple of miles). The country club/golf course, I walked up to the gate and still can't see the greenhouse on the map; that for me is too far. The only reason I have been able to complete the daily assignments when I stay at my friend's home is only during the pandemic because there's no POI in the daily assignment anymore.
I walked over a kilometer to a high spawn area, then go home. After a little rest, I walked the opposite way to the Inns for some much needed spell energy (less spawn on the map). This was what I usually did during the event days at my friend's place.
'Swings and roundabouts' - I'm just out of range of a greenhouse, if I were just in range would I be compelled to play more hours of the day to try & get the rarer gifts? Praps if the range was increased then the powers that be might reduce the chance of rarer gifts to compensate? 🤔🤷♂️
@oooHulio it's not the rare gifts that I am after in greenhouses, it's the ability to plant and harvest much needed ingredients. In low spawn areas, I have to wait for someone to give me a ride somewhere to pick up as much ingredients as I can on the map. I could have used a golf cart to travel around but with my dizzy spells and vertigo, it's not a good idea. Soon, the COVID-19 will be more manageable, and we will be back to the old requirements, and I will be resigned to not being able to complete all the assignments sometimes but that is the price I am willing to pay for the pleasure of my friend and her family's company. 😊
Sounds like a reasonable demand, wu has players who are disabled the same as pogo. Pogo got to keep 80m wu should have it just the same, otherwise its an unethical discrimination against the xommunity of wu. No ethical person should support discrimination.
+1 to this request. There are cases where I have to walk across a lawn to access a POI in WU at our local park while the same is accessible from the walking path in pogo.
This isn’t just for disabled players, but folks who are actively walking around and exploring as well. We aren’t talking about keeping the distance at a mile so I access them from home, just a few more feet so I don’t have to cross the road multiple times or jump into the water 😂
I live in a country of just over 5 million people.
4248 covid cases as of right now.
That’s a staggering number, a number the government is racing to minimise.
Yet here you are, espousing a terrifyingly lackadaisical attitude by supporting the continuation of a “healthy lifestyle” where players have to expose themselves unnecessarily. Lending your unequivocal support to a game developer who refuses to pay heed to this very real threat to society?
Let’s talk ethics, shall we?
