New App Update Crashes

I am using Samsung Galaxy S9 (completely up to date) and just DL'd the 2.2 app update but a lot of the features are unclickable now: Portkeys, Registry, Cauldrons... and most importantly Foundables on the map make the app crash! Anyone else having same? and/or know of any good fixes/workarounds to making the game work again?

I found a fix! uninstalled then reinstalled. made sure data saver was off for this particular app. cleared cache and data for it, then made sure all permissions were set correctly in the phone's app settings (location, etc. that the game requires to work). voila!
