Download All Assets

I feel like I'm doing this every other day. Just curious if there are that many updates and others are finding themselves doing the same or is this an isolated issue?

I ask because one of my old phones a few years back did similar with some apps (and to be honest, with all my Play updates).

Less than once per week and it's not downloading all the assets each time (based on the size).

I think these are bug fixes and stuff for events.

Hmmm... Ok. Interesting. Mine is literally once every 2 to 3 days. I wasn't being hyperbolic. It's that often.

Same here. And, hopeful that the next one it takes the red dot bug away....

I did just get it again, but again it was a tiny download. Probably stuff for community day or something.

Here's a question for you who can do it. How much space does it take?

I really slashed my app inventory, moved every photo to google photos, cleared all messages, and uninstalled POGO for an extra half GB, and with just over 4GB free (with WU already taking 760MB), my device still does not have sufficient space to download all assets, reaching the level of "You've got to be kidding me!".

I'd love to have a "wireframe" option for speed and space, and a high-contrast scheme for those of us who don't play sitting in cars.

@ni0h the game currently takes up 4.46gb of storage on my phone with all assets downloaded. I see many people complaining about the game progression being what'll drive players away, but I believe it's the weight of the application itself. Of all the applications I've ever installed on my phone, none even begin to compare to the demands this one makes upon my device's available resources, from storage to processing power. I have the newest iPhone Xs with 256gb of storage, so installing and running the game hasn't been an issue for me. However, I have several friends with older or cheaper mobile devices who would love to play the game but either can't install it at all, or have too many issues with the game freezing or crashing once it is installed. A wireframe mode or something comparable that would be less resource intensive would definitely get more players on board who are standing on the sidelines, eager to play, but can't.

`.So far it seems I've had to re-download all assets after every update to the game. The full (if not, close to it) 3GB fileset every time.

Extra assets needed for new events I can understand. New bits and pieces linked to updates that need replacing/altering, I get. The whole thing, though? Really? Every time I update? I hope that there is an easy way to avoid spending all of this money on data that I managed to overlook, I really do. Downloading assets is supposed to be the thing that saves us money, but really for me so far it's just been a means to plan for the full expense once a month instead of throughout the month. Which is useful, but still it's needing to plan for the expense in the first place that is turning into an obstacle.

Out of all possibilities I honestly didn't expect to be made to feel -too poor- to play this game, but here I am, close to being forced to stop because of monetary constraints. I would be able to get by just fine if I could download all of the game assets -and keep them, thank you-.

I am very curious about how the game is put together; does my phone wipe the existing version of the game and all its app data every time I update to a new app version, which means I am then starting the asset download from scratch? Or is everything so interconnected that relevant assets can't be overwritten on their own without affecting the whole when there are updates/changes? The idea that I might be forced to constantly re-download perfectly usable files I already have is what frustrates me.

Hopefully there's some kind of setting somewhere I just happen to be overlooking that will magically limit all of this data usage. That's the dream.

I just successfully downloaded all assets 3 days ago. And now I have a red dot telling me I have 16 files totaling 3300 MB to download. Something's not right.

@Shailan did you download the 2.3.1 version? That might explain the new one for you.

@Shailan - It always says 3300MB regardless of what the actual download size is for assets. Quite frustrating.

Thanks @Craeft . Because you said that, I went ahead and downloaded. It took less than a second, so clearly it wasn't all 3.3GB. so strange.
