For Task 2, you have to cast 12 good Riddikulus spells. Those are on regular foundables guarded by dementors. Not the Brilliant Demenetors. Although you have to catch 12 of those too. I can see how that's confusing.
Actually, you have to cast 12 Good Riddikulus spells on Boggarts. The only Boggart that is a dementor is Harry's. It is unrelated to the "Return 12 Brilliant Dementors" task.
That part confused me too until I realized I was thinking of the wrong spell. Boggart foundables like Neville Ron Hermione and one of the Patils are boosted and require the riddikulus spell, NOT the expecto patronum spell for the brilliant traces
The Brilliant Dementor seems designed as an oddity-style trace rather than a standard trace where your spellcast is rated. So you won’t get a rating when returning the Dementor.
