1920s boycott

Many of us are boycotting 1920's event. With AS broken they have alienated half their base. Many of us are refusing to even open the app during this event. Hoping many of you will join us. Show Niantic they can't keep doing this to us. They can't keep pushing these updates causing massive bugs then releasing events that we cannot even play. We need them to learn they cannot treat their base like this. Many players have been without as since last October. Then iOS users have had multiple issues lasting months and months. It is time to stand up to them and show them there are better ways to handle things.

    Uh... nope.

@lLilial this isn't pokemon go lol.

I for 1, am excited about the event. I'll b playing. AS isn't much of an issue 4 me if I can still keep the app open n play.

It may not be a popular reason but crying boycott isn't the solution 4 everything.

I dunno anything about boycotting but I've lost 2 out of my 3 encounters because the app crashed twice right at their beginning. I just won't use any more of my silver keys on these ports. Not worth it.

I have to agree with @OlgaMalfoy

Having no AS 'was' a pain.

    (689km in 53 weeks recorded = <2km/day)

    I regularly walk 8 to 10km a day.

But for me AS is not a major part of the game.

    L60 - so I don't need the XP

I have more incentive to play, than boycott the 1920's

@OlgaMalfoy , niantic did not fix AS then pushed for a portkey based event. Niantic basically wants to roam/walk around to open portkeys. There areas in lockdowns which can't do that. There are also other areas which are still unvaccinated that may spread covid19 while walking around.

How can then the players completw the 1920s event?

I walked off a portkey and got no reward encounter anyway... so AS wouldn't have helped.

@OlgaMalfoy Are you able to get your distance tracked with the game open? My issue isn't just adventure sync not working. It's that no distance is tracking whatsoever even if I am walking with the game open. I can only get it to sync if I am on the move when I first open the app. Then it gives me however many days worth of distance since the last sync all at once. I literally got 80 KM at once the other day from it finally syncing. If it fails to sync, I can't complete my dailies no matter how much walking I do with the app open let alone open portkeys. I've missed so many dailies because of failed syncs upon first opening the app.

So with distance not tracking whatsoever, how am I suppose to open portkeys to participate in this event?

I live in the boonies so I have a very weak signal and have a hard time with adventure sync. They always say make sure assets are dwnlded. This time I tried really hard to get steps in and I was able to open 7 port keys. I had to go into settings and flip the AS either on or off. Sometimes it would track with it off and other times when it was on.. I would have to check all time in the port keys to see if they were actually tracking and adjust.. I had only one portkey spawn at my home. I did not dwnld all assets as I just got another new phone and the game updated. I try to wait until you guys say the bugs are fixed LOL .. a few hours 'left - good luck
