Immersive Mode Is A Pain
Can we have an option to turn off Immersive Mode?
We have a game here that's very selfish. You have to keep it open to walk off portkeys and it doesn't want you to switch to another app or even leave because it hides the soft navigation buttons (Android). Another consequence is it's hiding the clock.
An option to turn off Immersive Mode would solve a few of these issues, the other is, I see, a future feature.

Its not even possible to see the battery charge or the data network. I've already lost some runestones due connection problems.
At the Comicon panel they announced future support of Adventuresync. This feature would support walking for portkeys without having the app open.
I used to love/hate my pokemon go accessory. An equivalent accessory in HPWU would permit you to both dine at inns and catch foundables without have the app open, without an activity log in HPWU it would be nearly impossible to keep track of what happened in HPWU.
On my Pixel 2 I can check the clock simply by swiping down while the app is running. The navigation buttons and clock appear. I don't find this problematic. I can also switch to another app by simply swiping up twice. I assume these gestures aren't available to you?
You can swipe down with any phone. It's a problem when it's in my arm strap because I can't reach top and bottom of the phone without moving it within the strap, and it times out to full immersive before being able to do so. It's a problem when it's not in the strap because it's an extra action when switching between HPWU and Ingress.
i have no issues with turning off immersive mode, but please leave it as default option and ensure we do not lose it.
i hate seeing the menu buttons and notifications bar, it pulls me out of the game world in my mind. i do not want to lose immersive mode app interface.
all for more options, but not at the expense of losing the enjoyment of losing myself within the game, something destroyed by seeing the clock and notifications.
@Digitalis as I requested in my original post :)
yep, no worries buddy - not trying to undermine your request, i surely understand it, just confirming a love of immersive mode from others in the playerbase.
I don't mind that it's immersive but I HATE that it times out so fast and won't allow you to switch windows. If you do tough luck, you gotta restart the game. Why can't they make it like PoGo where switching windows is a non-issue?
