Suggestion: Allow Returned numbers to grow beyond max
My first post, apologies if this has been discussed in depth before.
I have a suggestion that could make the game a bit more interesting. When a Foundable hits its limit, say 10/10, allow it to keep growing. Like 15/10 and continuously higher.
This way, returning certain Foundables or fighting Oddities are still worth doing. Cannot tell you how little I care for Oddities waiting a whole month for fives days of Werewolves spawning to complete a page. This way, say you have 35/10 of a Foundable and the page finally prestiges, you now have 25/50 and time isnt wasted.
Even better could be once you've finished Gold prestige, the counter can continue to go up so you can see a lifetime counter for everything you've returned.

Great idea.
If you click on registry you can see your total count for that foundable. eg on one of my gold pages I can see that I've seen 504 baby hippogriffs.
After placing a sticker there is no incentive to return any more until you prestige the page.
Once you get gold what are you left to do?
Hey, thanks for the reply!
I don't know how I never noticed that total count before haha.
I was kind of disappointed when I saw it only went to Gold Prestige. A Platinum/Diamond level would be nice that's ridiculously high like 250 of each. And then that can be Prestiged to Double Platinum/Diamond, Triple, Quadruple, etc. ad infinitum.
Just keep it at 250 each time (or whatever amount is appropriate, I did see the wands start at 100+) and give Experience, Books (Restricted Section?), Scrolls, and/or Gold each time.
Edit: Just checked some of my numbers and noticed it said I've seen 520 Abraxan Winged Horses, but I know I haven't. Apparently it counts each time I pick up an Abraxan Hair as encountering the Horse itself. Interesting.
I've been thinking a bit more about this. The registry only shows how many you've seen.
I will try not to make you cry. In fortress rewards there are wands that require 400 fragments. Nobody has seen them in the registry. Presumably new content down the road.
I would like to see how many I've caught of each foundable.
I've been soloing Tower levels slowly because no one else around here really plays when I can play. Level 27 Magizoologist and I've beaten the 11th Floor. But I'm well on my way to Wanda. I've gotten 1 of Hermione's Wands, only 119 more!
Also, I've been wondering, the Wanted Posters are max level Tower stuff I'm assuming?
There are two benefits to collecting maxed out foundables, though those benefits may not be compelling for wizards who are low on energy.
The first and most obvious is XP which goes towards level which makes it easier to defeat confoundables.
The second is family rank. In your example oddities I stop and focus on whatever oddity appears because in order to get bows you need to have oddity runestones that are given when you rank up the family. It takes a lot of leprechauns to get a runestone.
I feel your pain though, yesterday I went looking for boggart cabinets and must have returned dozens of Slytherin and Hufflepuff fragments.
I agree and would also like to see the total number of fragments returned possibly:
Total Returned/Seen: #/#
@Osprey1 As you know I'm a beta player. I am feeling very ripped off. It used to take 20-25 family foundables to level family XP. They nerfed it to 80-100 of each family.
You would get what you got pre sticker + a bonus 1 Family XP. There was incentive before that changed.
@dAltagnan I'm level 37 and haven't completed all the towers. I have all the wanted posters. They can't be prestiged.
@WerewolfChaser there is still the bonus family XP and you still need to grind, it just takes more work. I think it's understandable that they would want the beta to play a little faster than the general game to wring out bugs in the leveling features.
I think it would be cool if, once you had collected all your flobberworm fragments and depending on your level, they started appearing as multiple fragments with a higher severity level and scaled XP. Essentially batch collecting. Since you already caught the base amount this would allow you to level faster but with similar energy drain per fragment.
@Osprey1 Where is bonus family XP given?
I was under the impression that when we caught beyond the maximum number of fragments on the registry page we received bonus family XP. All that was outside was a magic megaphone and a kneasel so I couldn't check this for certain, I'll keep an eye on it.
@Osprey1 You have seen the max fragment bonus text which has now been removed.
I'm mostly getting 1 family XP per foundable. 2 for medium, 3 for high.
Hence I'm only looking for purple foundables atm. I just love oddities so I always prioritise them.
I'm also chasing event foundables for runes as we're getting 2 or 3 family XP each.
Well that's a shame, I like bonus family XP.
I've always liked oddities, I think it's because there is no uncertainty, you just defeat them. But I also need one more piece of that bow.
@Osprey1 Oh yeah. I need lots of bow pieces.
I would do oddities regardless. Who doesn't love a mini battle.
I was complaining about a week ago on here how hard it will be eventually for casual players. That day I returned 147 foundables for 1 rune.
I've given up all hope of getting my required red books.
As I am in the process of collecting another 50 flobberworms I am not concerned about my ability to earn books.
Lol I'm done with green books for auror training.
I think this is a great idea. It gives SOMETHING in return for continued returns of foundables. I mean, right now you still get the XP and the family XP for it, but no real sense of accomplishment of anything. This would offer that sense of accomplishment. And allow extras to roll over once prestiged and then, as you stated, continue the counter after gold.
Here's the big disadvantage of getting rolled over after prestige. Once you prestige it says you need 36 of 36 monster book of monsters and 0 of 50 flobberworms. Then where are you?
I am so happy to prestige and have flobberworms mean something again, at least for a while.
I do miss the bonus family XP and wish I'd never come to this thread. 😪
