Tips on Common Dark Wizards?

Anyone know which chamber to best find them? Before the event, I was getting dark wizards left and right so never really paid attention. Now that I need them for an event achievement, I can't get even 1 to pop up. I got a couple formidables on chamber 1 but no regular ol' commons.

I’m professor. Found one last night level 2 rune 5. I tried bouncing around a little, **** higher to see if I could get more than one in same challenge. Usually tho it’s a combo of wizards and death eaters of different strengths for me. Even managed to find some formidable DE for the sos. I know if I keep doing a few challenges a night, I’ll run into them eventually.

You should be able to find them throughout any of the first 8 levels. They are stronger at level 8 than at level 1 and I run into them all the time at Level 8. I find they, like most of the other foes, are kind of tossed together randomly to vary the challenge. Usually if I go into a room and there are five foes, I know they are all weak, just a lot of them. If there are only 2-3 foes then I know they're going to be stronger. Either way, You should be able to find them, it's a coin toss. Maybe play with runestone strength and see if that helps.
Unfortunately, due to energy shortage, it's difficult for me to sustain a level 8 chamber solo and I don't know anyone else here who plays except my roommate who, due to her MS, can't get out of the house very often. With that said, though... I might give that a shot next time I head out. But are you sure they're just your run of the mill common dark wizards, @ZookiTabooki ?
They're not like elite, going to eat your face and spit out your soul types?
ruins 1-2 using level 1 runes should see them. start going higher you will still see them, but start mixing in different difficulties above common and it brings the percent chance of a common type dark wizard down.
i know the rewards are a lot less in lower level fortresses then higher ones, so if your mission is only common dark wizards, maybe switch to auror profession and throw some runes at fortress ruins level 1.
they spawn more for aurors then other professions, and any profession should be able to muck through fortress ruins level 1.
level 1 runes can be had 10 for 40 gold in diagon alley, and levelling up the harry event page always gives a level 1 harry rune, so fortress ruins 1 and rune level 1 is not that hard of a situation to create.
that said, it is still a bit random, and as an auror i just kept fighting through tower levels like i have been recently and eventually found all the common ones i needed for my quest - it did take a lot longer that way then if i went to low ruins levels instead.

They come from 3 different levels but they are all Common Dark Wizards. All foes follow the same pattern.

I can't head back out tonight, but hopefully I'll have a few minutes tomorrow to go give it another throw.
I am a professor and decided not to change my profession. I used the event runes and just battled in the very first tower #1 since my only goal was to get the common dark wizard. Only common foes appear on that level, so I figured I had a good chance of seeing them without wasting too much energy (love those 1-hit kills). It took me about 8-10 battles to find my 3. Since I had 16 event runes that I wasn’t too worried about it was fine for me. Not sure what other people’s methods were.
Ok, after eight battles in various places, mostly low chambers, and only getting one, I switched to auror. I was nearly out of spell energy and didn’t want to keep killing my runestones. Stayed in level 1 ofc and found my last one needed in two battles. Glad to be done with that one.
As an Auror, i seriously get a common dark wizard every single time i enter the fortress, ive never not had one! Been in ruins 1-10 so far and the higher ones often give formidable dark wizards, but levels 1-5 always give them, esp with dark art rune stones they seem to be all i get! Those and acrumantulas!
Il swap you my dark wizards for some formidable pixies! Lol 😂
My sister had this quest today, so I switched to an auror (no points at all in the skill tree) and she was a magizoologist and two of the four enemies were dark wizards. She had gotten one previously so she finished up real quick. So I definitely recommend a quick fix is switching to an auror to get them.

@AuroraKadavra @TheRealHP55 I’m an Auror as well and was able to finally complete the formidable pixie challenge tonight. I’ve had luck by going to different fortresses in the past, but I found 4 within 20 minutes tonight by doing Level IV Ruins with various level 1 stones.
I had heard previously to look for them at Level III so I have poured tons of stones into that with moderate success, but this was the most success I have had. May have just been dumb luck, but it’s worth a shot to get those dang pixies and advance in the SOS quests.

Aurors, try looking for formidable pixies on Ruins Level IV using level I stones. I found 4 tonight within 20 minutes. May have been luck but it seemed fairly reliable. Even got 2 back to back.

@TheRealHP55 those pixies are the bane of my life at min! Not seen 1 yet! Despite trying where others have posted they could be, they just hate me i think! Lol
As an auror i got 3 in 2 challenges by just dping chamber 1 with a 1 runestone. My wife xhanged to an auror and did it the same way but took 3 challenges. She cant however get any pixies!
spawning a common level thing is a lot easier then a formidable level thing, because you have the lower limit to work with. you can only go so low in difficulty rating where all you will see is common - it screens out the higher difficulties and increases the odds you will see what you are looking for.

@Herm10neG92 i tried your tip but alas no luck- i did get a common pixie tho- so its the right species at least! 😀 il just keep experimenting & maybe one day, maybe this year! ....i might get them 😂 I'm really starting to think they are specifically avoiding me! I've switched to professor today with the extra scrolls i had, so when i go to the fortress tomorrow il try as that & see if it helps.
@Unsubliminal is it any particular lvl 1 runestone that u noticed gave best results?

I'm still trying to get the pixies as well so I see it as a 2-fer.
Hi everyone. I'm an Auror and need to find a Bavarian Erklings on a challenge. Someone has a tip for that?
@Craeft It was very easy like @Overflow4487 sister did, switch from Professor to Auror don’t need to use any books or scrolls, do lev 1 Fortress. Afterwards switch back, nothing lost, Common Dark Wizards gained. I only did it because of @Overflow4487 suggestion.
@Silvinha85 erklings show up most often during dusk. If you go to a place with lots of spawns and no flags then you should see plenty of oddities. During dusk hours any oddity with a yellow beam will be an erkling.
@MtPollux Thanks! But I need to find in fortresses. Any specific level or ruins for that?
@Silvinha85 you put Babarian Erklings in your post, so I wasn’t sure what you were looking for. Are you looking for two common erklings for sos task? Generally I think you’ll need to stay in the ruins levels, but maybe another auror can chime in where they see those.
