Happy Anniversary to you and the @HPWUTeam !!!
Thanks for tolerating us for the past 2 years. We love you. 💜💜💜
Large parts of Minneapolis and St Paul lost all greenhouses and other POI half a year ago. The "Visit a Greenhouse 3 Times" task is bizarrely hard for them. Please provide an alternative way to complete this task.
Red areas on this map don't have any POI since December 2020. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?hl=en&mid=1lbtuC4mT8kY54Au9dCN9t29MYHqGAufQ&ll=45.00881997661784%2C-93.09595864999999&z=11
This event sounds very underwhelming. I'm so disappointed with the lack of effort from WB/Niantic. The 2nd Anniversary Event should elicit more excitement and interest; instead it's made me consider if it's finally time to give up on the game. There's nothing new and no interesting boosts. Even XpectoGo couldn't pretend to be happy with this event.
In the last year we've only had 1 new page, and a lot of people completed it in 1 day because someone thought it was a good idea to have a Community Day featuring it right away... Yes we've had Adversaries but these should be in addition to the main part of the game, which is returning foundables. The SOS lessons aren't very useful if you've completed all the pages, so these didn't add much for me - it would have been better if we'd had a lot of new pages released with the SOS lessons.
There's apparently a new 1920's Wizarding World Family coming at some point (I thought it would have been for this event) but 1 new family with a few pages isn't going to save this game unfortunately.
I understand there are NDAs and embargoes etc. but there needs to be a degree of transparency with the community, giving us a road map of where the game is going and what we're leading towards. Some questions I have:
Will all of our resources be useful anytime soon? (Many of us have completed professions, SOS and Adversary lessons - or are just waiting on restricted section books.)
Will there be new content and/or features, such as new pages; new Fortress Foes or Chambers; will we ever be able to find friends on the Knight Bus; when are Lethals coming?
Will we ever get more items for the Mysteries registry, and will we get more story at a faster pace? There are still 3 of the London 5 we know nothing about!
We don't need full details or exact timescales, but you need to tell us something that makes us want to stick with the game.

I am also aware that similar messages have been posted, and deleted from this thread, with the original posted blocked from messaging. Can you please advise as to the reason why? Have they violated any ToS that they should be aware of? Or are you just as conscious as many of the players are that the storyline seems stagnated, and that you are as unsure as the players are as to how to progress the main storyline? We await your response, and look forward to a constructive discussion moving forward.

We just want this game to be fun again.

Thanks! for another spotlight event update. Please, just don't call it a 2nd Anniversaries event. Did your developer team feel anything when you approved this event for a celebration? I deeply hope you will surprise all players with this event, but now, I'm better gotta sleep cause it almost 4 AM in my area. I set an alarm clock at 1 AM to read your surprise event. Surprise with no surprise!
Bad idea team....
Is it just me or are we getting more and more events but less and less restricted section books? Would be nice to have those greens as event rewards instead of all the DADA books. Getting enough of those with the adversary events and still have many SOS lessons to learn costing 25 green books each.
Expected more from a 2 year anniversary 2 day event, but if Albus is omnipresent and gives me lots of gold gifts, I’m not gonna complain :-)
I expected more from an anniversary. So disappointed. This isn't a good event to celebrate 2 year anniversary.
I see a lot of copied comments. I agree with them all.
For a second anniversary event, this is very weak. Let’s look at Pokémon GO, they’re having a big virtual 2 day event, with many rarer creatures returning & chances of finding shiny versions, as well as providing free items to all players.
Ingress celebrate by doing Double AP (XP) events, and again providing freebies. Players are also awarded a badge based on their level as a thanks for continuing to play.
Let’s think how that could be applied here, with HPWU;
This event seems ill thought out (especially with needing people to visit a greenhouse during heavy lockdowns in some countries still) and not the kind of celebration I would expect from a game this large. Poor show overall.
Hope the feedback is taken onboard.
💩
Hi everyone!
Happy HPWU Anniversary! Heres your Infographics.
you guys over there in california do realize that we're amidst a global pandemic with huge swathes of the world in lockdowns, with most countries outside of the EU/USA hugely unvaccinated, right? B/c that whole 'play from home' is a 100% joke, 4 portks in a task with AS still broken and not working for most android devices? Get a grip.
@FredjeFlitser we're not getting less restricted books, from july 2019 to now we've always gotten the exact same number, 30/month.
Not quite sure what the point of this event is, except for the purpose of simply having an event. I'll take the increased Dumbledores, but that's about it.
Open 4 portkeys??? What about people in countries with lockdowns?
From what everyone is saying, people are still interested in playing this game. They just want it to be more challenging and interesting. You have a fan base which you're losing to monotony.
If I do miss this event, what will I lose that I won't gain minus the event?
2 healing potions and 4 exstimulos which I can brew while I sleep. Few unicorn hair, 1 key, 4 red books (earned through playing d5 four times), 3 dada books which I can get through 1 EDM, few gold coins- get them as gifts, some energy, some xp and a useless card.
When you gave us the dragon event, that was something exclusive. Something we couldn't earn if we didn't participate that day. We need to be rewarded for sticking around for two years. If you can't invest more in the game, neither would we.
@Nhix you'd miss the lore drop, although "recap" probably means no new lore, just retelling of the existing storyline.
I think it would have been an OK event if it weren't called anniversary event, and if it weren't overhyped.
@cosk62 well, I took a long break in between and missed a lot but at the same time missed nothing. Tbh, I haven't been following the storyline since then. There is a thread on Reddit where someone has been kind enough to put it together so I can always pop in there and have a look.
Shiny dumbledore?
About portkey task, its open not unlock right?
I hope opening my saved opened portkey in the vault will count.
I'm not happy about the event either. Open 4 portkeys and the event was designed 2 be played at home.
The events recently are getting more and more difficult and I can barely complete them. 😥
Hey, btw why are players flagging the Infographics? Hate the event but dont **** the messenger now. 🤔
@DRAKONITE We just opened up fully in California.... I guess they forgot that the rest of the world exists.
And I completely agree; if you're going to bring back the portkey opening tasks, please, PLEASE FIX ADVENTURE SYNC!!
@Kodokmag the portkey tasks are usually completed by locking the portkey port portmanteau. Opening and claiming wrackspurts for rewards has not completed the portkey task in the past.
@OlgaMalfoy appreciate the love. Thank you. I don't like finding solutions with pitchforks and torches. 😅
But I understand how the community feels and I understand why we all feel so passionate about voicing out our anger.
Harry Potter is more than a game to the major part of of the community and in a way the majority feels disrespected. When events like these are held and they dont hold the same kind of passion the community values, they're bound to have negative feelings brought forward.
For the past 2 years ( many of us even longer than that) joined HPWU because we love our HP fandom or the Harry Potter/ Wizarding World has had a sentimental impact on our lives. But there's so many people I know, and especially miss, who have quit because of the bugs, glitchy and mismanaged events and bad hindrances that permanently harmed our gameplay. Truthfully, more and more players continue to leave because of it.
But I also know that I come across dozens of potential new players a day and as the playerbase we have the ability to bring in players by sharing what we love with them. But we don't. Because we're not motivated in doing so. Because many players feel that their requests and feedback arent being met and valued.
HPWU is hugely dynamic. It's connected us globally, we've made friendships beyond the game and it has potential to be so much more. But we need you to listen to our requests and act on them.
I appreciate that the HPWU team. I truly do! I know you are listening to us even though it's not so easy to to implement the changes we constantly demand. Help us help you to keep us passionate about what we love so much in this game.
@AltarielValice
Hear hear!
I agree.
@AltarielValice thank you for putting that in a much nicer way.
I do see the fact that you can't really please everyone. It is quite understandable. But I see a lot of feedback being blatantly ignored- for example, the minor glitches for one.
It does cost money to implement all the changes people are asking for but a lot of people are willing to pay for in-game items if the game is worth it!
