Player Cards
This idea came from the fortress tutorial discussion but I feel deserves a post on it's own.
It would be helpful, especially for events, to have cards that you could post on boards to form fortress groups. Here is a very rough mockup. The front of the card could might look like your ministry id. If you made cards for a specific event you could trade them as collectibles. It would be cool if you could get a free "print it yourself" pdf from the app and also order preprinted cards for gold delivered by mail.
At event sites boards with clear pockets could be set up with divisions for each profession. This would allow wizards to easily find a group to fit in with. You could have a fortress level (or range) at the top of the board. If I was organizing an event I would also want to have blank cards and markers for people to fill out and join in.

Can we please have a QR code generator and scanner for friend codes? (This should be a separate post in app feedback.)

I dig that.
What would you want to see on a template fill in card?
Do you think that the 2.5x3.5 card is the right size (this is the same size as a playing card or a Pokemon card)?
Here is an idea for a professor card:

These are great @Osprey1!! I can imagine something like that being really useful at community days and the upcoming Fan Festival.
Btw, you need to give a lesson in posting pictures in forums. You always post so cleanly in here and I’m still struggling to find a nice place to host my photos on that doesn’t add a ton of extra UI to my photos.
Awesome idea!
These are great, would love to have this!
It's at this point in the process that I remember that I am not a graphic designer and things like this should best be left in the hands of a professional. Here is an image of the card as it stands:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/HyJKXwtJFMc5ncvUTbYhEx1DSDCmxiGQVCymNznVENxdKJwZSGPcrYS8xzvbpFU-s9nghhF-Nn14GVtfDxcsfmol81bTet6yopufBF_s6FetuDOugg7WwG7oJiNtQH5i9E-lFrhCJr8=w2400Here is the Google Drawing file used to create it: https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1_JXvGJKB1-RWIuFSP68TSozlSs1AEwFsT2hUVedJw0k/edit?usp=sharing Just make a copy of the drawing and edit the fields. The QR code can be generated using the following (using your code): https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?cht=qr&chl=<add your code here>&chs=180x180&choe=UTF-8&chld=L|2
I created a sheet of nine of these with a border and cut lines. If you export the card as a png, you can replace the nine images and then print out an entire sheet. Here is the Google Drawing for the sheet. https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/13iU4SZWicw1AqSTvO1STfM4E6_P212r3-UTuRMaPr28/edit?usp=sharing
I've printed this out on plain paper and it's okay, not great.
If I was going to produce these, especially for an event, I would print them on card stock and also get a 1/8 round corner cutter and trim the edges. (https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-Lever-Punch-Corner-Round/dp/B003F7YC7C/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?keywords=corner+cutter+1%2F8%22+fiskars&qid=1564186464&s=arts-crafts&sr=1-2-fkmr1)
If I was going to do this for myself I would use my ministry ID for the back.
I would love it if someone talented would pick this up and run with it, but I think the most important aspect is that we get a standardized format.
I made a post, I had a typo and I went to edit it and it disappeared. I'm concerned that the Amazon link that I had to explain something got it flagged.
Here is the summary:
I am not a graphic designer, nor do I play one on the internet. Someone with talent should take this on.

Thanks @Osprey1 !!
Thanks, @Osprey1! That's a cool idea, and I appreciate you sharing it.
I can see it now...wizards and witches at events with personal trading cards with back stories and achievments...kind of like they do for Ingress. But wiyh a minisry ID on one side. Well there is a whole Pandoras box!
Since I’m an artist, for sure I’d want to draw my own version of this. I absolutely adore the art for this game. Been star struck by it since day one.
If I get enough time, I might give it a go. Just been SO busy. But it’s such a wonderful idea @Osprey1
I’d honestly just love to have the game ID printed with all my badges and stuff. It would look so cute, like a passport you can show off 😊
i can dig it, where is that "shut up and take my money" meme?
a collectible ministry id card would be cool. someone figure out how to import the export of the ministry id into something printable from a kiosk at a copy shop.
only 'computer' i have is my cell phone, so needs to be able to be done with just it. copyshop can print any common graphics file you can email them, you can print from kiosk any common graphics file you can get on a thumb drive.
while we are wishing those are my limits of participation for do it yourself.
copy machines can take card stock.
@Digitalis you can currently do this with your ministry ID, at least I can.
On your ID there is a share button that lets you share your ID or your photo. You can email it to your favorite copy shop and then go in and have them print it. You can also download it to your phone.
have not been to town long enough to find one and try, will do so next chance i get. i dunno how well it will go fitting it to teading card size but see how it goes.
@Osprey1 I did not know you could do that! Too bad it doesn't give you the full ID? At east, for me it crops it so a huge chunk of it is missing, which makes me so sad. The ID is so cute :/
Ouch, you are correct. Only the top sections of the ID are saved.
It is possible to screenshot and crop the ID.
@Osprey1 oh my goodness this is such a fantastic idea!!! So cool!! I've got a comic-con on 31st Aug & it would be awesome to have some of these for me to leave around in the hope i get some local people as obsessed as i am that would then meet me at a fortress so i can finally do a team challenge! Poor solo me 😔 lol !!
I'm an artist like @JulieJubz & used to be graphic artist for local newspaper. But bit rusty now. However i volunteer at a place with amazing graphic nerds & the printers, 3d, laminate etc just everything! So if you don't mind i will run with your idea and produce something?
This is soooo geeky it's untrue- but i am so excited to think of having the actual id, stickers, photo & all in the flesh to hand out at events & make contacts with fellow enthusiasts!
Love the idea, you've made my day! That's what im doing for the rest of today- I'd somehow missed this thread til now!
Really cool idea, I like it. But you couldn't realistically print that many at a time unless your maxed though right? I mean, my stats are changing every few days as the scrolls come in, so how would that work?
Now if there was a 3rd party site that could digitally manage these for you, and maybe even interface directly to your stats in real time via your friend code, that would be perfect 👌. Mobile games like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars have something pretty close to this, so it's definitely doable.
But in any case, if you have your own printer then you could print a few at a time n it'd be no big deal.
Lastly, I think there is also one requirement that NEEDS to be followed: Make them shaped like chocolate frog cards 😎
Oops, forgot to tag y'all, new to this and not sure how the notifications work @Osprey1 , @JulieJubz, @AuroraKadavra
While chocolate card frogs are cool, the shape is hard to work with. Keeping them playing card/baseball card/Pokemon card size and shape works well for storage and use.
You can get 9 cards per US letter sized page. This is probably a good amount in most instances. If I can get to the festival I would want 5 or 6 times that number.
@AuroraKadavra go for it, just share what you produce if you can.
Oh for sure, I 100% know pentagon shaped cards aren't practical, but I just want them lol
But real talk, I still don't know what I'd do with a binder full of players' cards other than just using it as a reference for what their primary profession is. And maybe as a baseline of what level they were when I got the card I guess.
Still interested in this topic either way and to see if anything comes of it.
If I had more time, I would SO draw something for this right now. But my dayjob is art, so I need a rest haha. But I’ll try at some point :D
Excited to see what you’ll do @AuroraKadavra
My primary idea for these is to use them at fortresses to construct teams during events. It would help put similarly leveled wizards together with different professions and know which professor has the strongest hex for example.
The secondary purpose is to use them to share friend codes at events like the festival.
@ElektrykalAJ lol i love the idea of shaping them, i had thought of some sort of fold in thing that opens out to have 3 faces inside if u kno what mean, but make the edges of the outside like a crest shape would look cool?
Yeah i was thinking that the details would constantly be changing, so was going to have those either rewritable - or even better, print the stickers cos i have the access to do that, so it be easy on and off numers on some & titles on others. Very frivolous i know but i reaaallly want to do it! Lol.
So id have my permanent cards, just a little stack, to be reprinted when needed, and a few sets of stickers too in case data changed on the day. Tbh it wouldnt need a lot for the 1 day im going out with them- for example to a comic-con.
Im sooo excited about this idea lol. Pure genius @Osprey1
😊
