Don't take back items earned during an event, even if they are just cosmetic
Opened the game this morning and meandered over to my "passport", only to be greeted by a popup box tellling me that because the Harry Potter Brilliant Calamity Event is over, the stickers/lenses/frames (et al.) associated with the event are no longer available - and my portrait was blanked out.
1. If you're going to treat event items as temporary, then do not make their availability subject to being earned via event participation.
2. I as an adult do not consider it a big deal. Pretty sure the children who play this game, and thus the parents of the children who play this game, are not going to perceive take-backs in a positive light.
I do not know what led to this decision on Niantic's part, but it's a bad look and unless the decision was made for technical reasons *that you are going to explain in-game* (e.g., database object issues), it should be reversed.

Hey @PrincipiaCoH. This is not intentional, it is a bug. They are trying to get the items returned back to players for both events. This happened with the items from the initial event and now this one...Don’t worry. Any items you earned should be returned to you once it’s fixed.
They are definately still there. I opened a brilliant portkey earlier which leveled up on brilliant events (also dropped another trunk). Got taken to the registry page to click on it.
All the stuff is still as you gained it, you just can't view the page at the moment.
@Overflow4487 is correct, this is a bug. All AR filters and stickers rewarded during events will be permanently part of your collection. When this bug is fixed, I'll let you all know!
