Please reconsider the task of casting two masterful flipendo spells. I’m level 60 and have been playing since the beginning. I have never cast a masterful flipendo spell and so this will be the first event I am not able to complete.
I completely agree that an event requiring a masterful flipendo is unreasonable. I'm also level 60 and have never - not once - cast a masterful flipendo. It took me a while to do all the great epublio last time, but I didn't mind the challenge. I'm grateful for different kinds of tasks, but they should be achievable.
Yes, please reconsider the Masterful Flipendo task. I began playing on Day 1, now Level 60 and have completed every single event but this upcoming one will be a great disappointment if the Masterful task is left in. I have never cast a Masterful Flipendo which will mean I will be unable to complete the event. I’m happy for a challenge but this is a step too far!
I am also Level 60, and have completed the Masterful Achievement. I also cannot complete a Masterful cast for Flipendo.
PLEASE change the task to "2 Great Casts". That would at least be achievable for more people. It is unfair for you to deny most of your customers the ability to complete the task, get the RSB books, and go on to the Bonus task.
I'm one of your customers who spend a lot of money each month on this game, and will stop doing that if I can't complete the tasks.
Foundables that need to use flipendo are also incredibly rare and I even used tonics to find them....the very few that pop up (HECK I spawn more foundables that need Ebublio compared to anything else) also get "caught" immediately after one try even if I did horrible and it falls in the red. ****?! This is a huge slap in the face!
If this was a 'bonus' task fine whatever...I'll just sit out on finishing the bonus for THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER (and I've been playing since day 1) but why the heck is it a required task?! PLEASE change it to great cast, or something way easier to find & master cast like Ebublio or anything without "jagged lines" (in my opinion), or just crazy boost flippendo foundables cuz I can't find em even with tonics...or moving the task to Bonus
((ps: and I been thinking this for a while...but none of these quests since pandemic started has encouraged the notion of staying home/quarantining away from others too...))
It's just amazing to me that Niantic would add a task required to complete a main event that can potentially lock dedicated players out of completing it no matter how many hours they're willing to play or how many resources they're willing to expend. Why make an event literally impossible to complete for a certain percentage of their players? Could they AT LEAST make this a bonus task instead of a main task? Or could they AT LEAST make it possible to turn down the difficulty level with potions or gold? Or could they AT LEAST make the task a little more reasonable with something like "Cast 2 Great Flipendo" or "Cast 2 Masterful Aguamenti" instead of this nonsense? The difficulty level for this task is absurdly high even for people without any physical disabilities
I have arthritis and am very upset that I will not be able to complete this and get all the images placed. Time to look for a game that does not penalize me.
I too am level 60, but this may the be first event I don't complete due to the masterful casts. I don't think it is even worth spending time on since I have never been able to cast a masterful flippendo.
I'm now at Task 4. I've been practicing Flipendo, including before I strike, and the best I've been able to do is a strong Great. I'm going to make the attempt to complete this, because I have 5 days left. But, even if I manage to, I probably won't have time to complete the Bonus, which will make this the first event OF ANY KIND I have not completed.
Either way, I lose. It's just a matter of how much.
I agree with this. I am a dedicated level 56 wizard in this game. With every other difficult required task in previous events there are options to do, the time to grind, brute force, or purchase your way to complete the event.
I mention these three because I am a member with a neuro muscular disease. Sometimes I have to go beyond what "normal" gamers can achieve easily. I'm okay with that, I choose that option. I game for chronic pain maintainance. HPWU is just one game in my medicine cabinet.
With this task there is no way. Warner Bros Games has decided their games are only for those who are of "normal" abilties.
At least if you had chosen return 50 or 100 ..or whatever crazy number you want....of fragments using Flipendo there's a way to grind thru that.
This is not something that everyone can do even with "tips". It requires speed and accuracy ie: small muscle control and dexterity.
We lose the bonus tasks too.
*When this event has ended, I'd like to know the percentage of members who failed to meet this one requirement.
Do you really have so many actively involved daily users that you can afford to alienate members of your base? My friends list doesn't reflect that. Most no longer play at all. My premium gifts for friends runith over.
I downloaded this game the day it started. I hate to admit it but I’ve spent well over $100(U.S.). Ive casted only 36 masterful traces since the very first day. I don’t know if it’s my phone, service, or fat fingers but this is ridiculous.
This game is fun while I walk my dogs or here an there while I’m working. I’m not spending another dime or wasting any more time. These brilliant events are just a money grab anyway. That’s why they’ve been more frequent than previous years.
I just can't do this one and it'll be the first time I can't complete an event so I'm feeling very gutted :(
Finished everything else on day one and now I'm struggling to try and get even one masterful flip. Any other spell I can cast Masterful on all day long, even incendo but the flip hates meh :(( A perfect cast in green done as fast as I can so many times but not a single one counted as masterful.
I have to add my voice to the chorus of complaint. Level 56 and this will probably be the first brilliant I don't get to complete. That also makes this the first incomplete bit of story that I'll have. I've tried the suggestions above and in other threads and have only gotten "greats." Given the relative rarity of flipendo traces and the difficulty level, this should be a bonus task, if used at all.
There's still time to swap a more accessible task in. Please consider doing so.
I have never been able to cast flipendo as a Masterful spell. I find this is the most difficult one for me to even get a great. I don't have any issues that cause difficulty in play otherwise. I am with everyone who is asking to have this task adjusted.
Requiring us to get masterful flipendo is the last straw for me. I'm nearly at level 50, but I'm officially done with Wizards Unite. The Adversary events are pointless as most of them disappear during battle, wasting potions, energy and time. When the pandemic was at it's worst, they required us to walk off portkeys, and refused to widen the reach for Inns and greenhouses (like Pokemon Go did). I've written to them, friends have done the same, we've tweeted, emailed, and made bug reports to no avail. They simply do not care about players. You would think that they would want to keep players, especially now when fandom has turned on JK Rowling 's hate views, but apparently they would rather alienate us.
When something starts feeling like a chore rather than a fun game, it's time to uninstall. Maybe I'll play again if Niantic makes it up to us, though I doubt they will.
Requiring a “Masterful” of any spell is discriminatory to players with disabilities such as dexterity and mobility issues. I have RA and there is no way my fingers would ever allow me to cast a masterful on any spell, much less a rare and hard to cast one. Very disappointed Niantic.
I am so frustrated. I've long ago accepted that I won't ever get the achievements for casting masterful anything because of the arthritis in my hands. I've accepted that it takes me twice as long to get any number of great casts. But for this ableist decision to prevent me from completing an event is a slap in the face tbh.

similar to that the nike/check symbol: ✓ works also, just 'curve' the final bit so it ends as with the square root in same/similar place

Please stop adding this idiot tasks in normal quests. If you really feel the need to put it, at least put it in the bonus quests so we can skip it!
Why we should ruin our full and perfect pages achieved in 2 years of sacrifices because of this **** quest????
If I cannot complete it I’ll quit this game, and I'm glad I've never spent a single cent in this game, and will never spend nothing in niantic games.
I am also Level 60, and have completed the Masterful Achievement. I also cannot complete a Masterful cast for Flipendo.

I'm very unhappy and discouraged.
I'm also throwing my complaint in the hat.

The problem is they don’t mind us...
I agree completely with this thread

I quit. Spent all day trying to get 2 masterful Flipendo spells with numerous tonics.
Don’t waste your tonics
I have completed every challenge and event since the beginning. Please have the Masterful Count for all spell types.
Level 59 Player
I posted a comment above and I just have to say
I just completed two masterful flipendo casts in a row.
I did not use the flipendo trace though.
I did an Augmenti trace.
Try it what do you have to lose.

Completely agree. Level 56 and cannot perform a masterful flipendo.
these are all masterful casts on flip
agreed. It will be my first event not completed. Level 46 wizard
I think they listened to us all whine lol. I woke up and it was completed
I’m so frustrated. Level 58 and 1 masterful out of 4 TTDs and about an hour of driving around to hot spots. So frustrated.

Yes, I've done like 2 masterful casts ever and have played each day since launch. Please don't do this in future...some of us really can't manage it
