Hey everyone, I've been using my car to travel far distances. If you're lazy like me just drive around your neighborhood really slow and the game will think you're walking. Plus you can encounter more foundables, but be safe and pull off to the curb.

Well since you're off of it @Osprey1 I'll take my turn.

I can point blank tell you this was the case. As a Paramedic I ran several car accidents in relation to POGO. At first we talked about it jokingly but it quickly became a reality. Small distracted pedestrians and distracted drivers. Happens everyday to people that have done it "a million times" with nothing ever happening but, remember, some mistakes only take once.

I do recognize the fact you're recommending this as a way to get your kms in and that you state pull over if you actually want to attempt a trace though. Not harping at you, just taking the opportunity to throw a cautionary statement out there while we're on the topic.

This is an extremely dangerous practice. Should my wife and I decide to take the car (which is rare as I prefer to walk, though not so much in winter) I let my wife do the driving and I work the phones. Team work. Do not take your eyes off the road for one second. You don't want to be responsible for something you'll spend the rest of your life regretting. Be smart. Play safe.

With the caveat that I used Go+ (so didn't need to have the app open), I have had good results achieving km bonuses by bicycle in PoGo. As the feature is not yet out in HPWU I walk. I may take the bike out again, when I don't have to pay attention to the screen to register kms in game.

If you must do this, put the phone face down and pretend it's not there.

I agree with you all. When im with my gf she works the phones. When im by myself I turn the sounds and vibration off so im not tempted. Be safe and smart, just thought some of my fellow wizards who arent feeling the walk could benefit from this tip. Also, im noticing I sometimes unlock portkeys without having to move lol. AND DONT FORGET TO LOOK UP THE MASTER NOTES FOR POTION CREATION.

Your other possible "clever trick" is to find a place with no or weak wifi and the same distance from two or more cell towers. Every time your phone switches it's primary tower, your avatar will dash around and sometimes earn tiny bits of distance in the process. (This is a common cause of the "going to fast" message popping up when you're completely still.)

Or you could tape your phone to your Roomba 🤣

Oh maybe that’s why my avatar speeds around at work. It always tells me I’m going too fast while I’m sitting at my desk lol

and now I need to figure out how to strap to my dogs.... 😂😂

@Dogoutlaw Get one of those armband phone cases for joggers, then thread the collar through it?

im fortunate enough to have a free metromover I use to take to campus and back home: if ever bored, I can just ride it back and forth for a second Longbottom as I want lol.

I’m fortunate enough to have a free metro-mover(like a small version of a metrorail) I use to take to campus and back home: if ever bored, I can just ride it back and forth for as long as I want collecting traceables/wizarding challenges/inns etc, lol.

@Dogoutlaw you can buy dog saddle bags. Check eBay.

And then rent out space in the saddle bags to other players!

I have seriously considered buying them myself for Pogo connected to a gotcha. Should I feel embarrassed yet? giggle

Ha, I already have some for both my labs. Don’t use often, totally forgot about them. They need the exercise!

My dogs need more exercise but that's hubbys job. I'm not strong enough to control them and I have either a cane or walker.

A few years ago I would walk them. One day they saw a dog and went crazy. They actually pulled me over.

@Auroracrucius ouch!! Didn’t know they’d use big toe tendon to replace that?! Interesting. I’ve done my ACL, snowball fight in college of all things...🤷🏼‍♀️ Thankfully I’m still mobile, just won’t be hiking Everest... ever. Great idea about the hubby. I’ve heard if the phone goes in upside down, it won’t shut off, so will log the entire walk. Hopefully that works better for you!
