I am aware that the max fragment bug has been fixed. I had been hoping that actually rewarding the additional family XP was the bug. Unfortunately it's the text gone.

You have made it near impossible for casual players to progress once they have their pages full.

That is up to 100 confoundables of 1 family to get a rune. How many confoundables does your casual player actually return? I had been watching the progress of my casual players on my friend list till it bugged out. None of them were anywhere near 100 confoundables a day.

Yes we can buy runes but if casual players are unable to complete daily quests they will either have to forego doing their dailies or pay cash.

This also places red books from challenges out of reach for them.

I am not a casual player, beta with over 11,000 confoundable returns and some days even that is not enough for a family XP rune.

    "Impossible (...) to progress" ???

    Nah, it's just very slow.

And just to clarify, the "daily quests" are not a MUST-HAVE. They're one option, they're an arbitrary goal that you liked.

Sure, they provide a nice, regular progress in all aspects but even 5 of them will do that. You don't "have to" do all 7.

And another side-note, at what point is someone a "casual gamer"?

@Lucoire I'm sure everybody's definition of a casual gamer will differ. I will say though, someone unlikely to return 100 confoundables per day.

I have calculated that it will take me many years to complete my fundamental training.

I played beta and notice the huge nerf to family XP. From 20-25 confoundables per level to 60-100 confoundables needed.

As far as the daily quests are concerned, they are the only reliable form of earning gold which we need for item expansions and purchasing runes.

You will be singing a very different song in about 2 months. Or... maybe you're just content with anything offered and never negotiate your way through life. If that rings a bell, good on you.

I feel unless something changes, fortress battles will get few and far between as the drop rate of runes slows so much as you level up.

It should be easy enough to do one a day for the daily rewards as a box of 10 cost 40 gold and 10 days worth of dailies nets 100 gold, but getting enough for a good session of challenge play? I don't see how unless you are spending real world money.

The solution I would put forward would be to ditch the ingredients from both daily quest rewards and portkeys and replace them with a random rune drop. Ingredients are far too easy to get just by walking around, most are ditched as not needed, and if you are short, you can always grown them. I sort of feel it's a bit of a kick in the teeth after all the effort to unlock a portmanteau, to get 2 or 3 ingredients that are going to get binned straight away.

Example of what I'm referring to here are my stats for today:

    Confoundables returned: 147

    Runes received: 1

Average energy per inn: 4.07 - this is my highest daily average since recording my inns.

The inns in my area are the lower blue inns that serve pumpkin juice, fish and chips and butterbeer.

I also visit the green roofed inn that serves afternoon tea, cake and honey dukes bar.

My overall energy gained per inn before the increase in spell energy was 3.
