Why use events to advance the story?
The mysteries section in the registry was created for a reason. It tells the story, unfolds the history of the calamity. Yet someone decided to hide the story behind special events that you have to complete to understand what has taken place, often needing to spend a lot of time in game.
Special events should be extras or filler, never game advancement. What happened to SOS assignments and achievements like "Cast 20 distinct spells" and "Find 50 mystery items"?
Did you forget these existed and just care about pumping events for coins (oh look another limited time purchase)?
It's obvious that the game has drifted from what it was when it was first released but I never thought it would be abandoned.
