Power vs Adversaries

Is it just me or is there something off about power vs adversaries? As a maxed out Professor my base power is 79 (no buffs/no hexes/non-critical). However it seemed like I was having to hit a lot more times and/or use a lot more portions than I thought I should so today I did an experiment with my niece (a maxed out Magizoologist base power 59+40 (for 5 focus)+10(more than 50% stamina)=109). We both went up agains Lockhart and took screen shots after each hit using nothing except healing potions (which I needed and she didn’t). My base hit was only 63 and hers was only 79. How is that possible? I get that the Prof wouldn’t have any of the power buffs for enhancements/impairments, but shouldn’t I have at least the base? And how did she get to 79? The math doesn’t work. Either she should have only the base of 59 or she should have both the +40 for 5 focus and +10 when she has at least half her stamina.

from sos nodes (idk which ones exactly) you get the passive more power/def +2-3 enchantments. what you dont get as a prof outside of forts is the extra power/def from impairments on foes (cant get w/o an auror and there's no nodes to activate it in sos/adver plan). So you get 'stuck' at 96 power and cant get to full 148 (I think?).

When I was using mostly profesor as my 1st profession, during events when dmg was a case I was very often using a Dawdle Draught potion(just don't use all charges) - which game considers as an enchantment. When you combine it with some Baruffio/any other elixir it gives you 2 enchantments so you get that 96 basic dmg.

now you get that from sos nodes, no need to dwadle up.

@DrakoniteI understand about where/how/when to activate additional power both in fortresses and against adversaries. I’m specifically talking about the un-enhanced numbers. As a maxed professor my power is 79. When I hit the final adversary without any potions or any of the other buffs, I’m only taking the adversary down by 63. That’s 20% less per hit than my skill tree says it should be. Where are the other 16 points going and why? It’s even worse for the maxed Magizoologist. She’s getting 79 when according to her skill tree it should be 109. That’s only about 73%. Where did her other 30 points go?

adversaries have defense and/or defense breach. Auror does base 100 but in most advers they do 81/91 dmg base.

Ah Ha! Finally an explanation that makes the math work. I found another player who was a maxed out Auror and he only took down Lockhart by 91 (on the super rare occasion he didn’t get a critical hit LOL). But I can accept that there is a +/- 20% power loss from the defenses of the adversary. Now it makes sense. Thank you!
