Adversary Costs... Feared to upcoming Lethals - Worth it or achievable?
Being a level 55 Professor(I just made the connection- In December I made 55th level and also turned 55...lol). That said I always have to use 1-2 potions to win against the main Adversary, and against the higher bosses fights, potions are required even for the henchmen before the main boss. Some fights I can use 5+ potions from healing to Exstimulos (Potent for the Main event, lesser ones for the henchmen). Worse, the higher ones use Traces so small and so fast that I miss opportunity after opportunity to connect due to old man hands (I feel sorry for people that have even worse dexterity issues). Too help, I have moved away from my SOS plans and have used "My Precious" books I was saving and have instead invested in Advanced Adversarial Combat defense and offense sides all the way up to Accuracy against Lethals. But, for me the 50% chance to for success definitely doesn't appear to the be 50% more like 30ish% in most fights. Also people... If I chose to invest in the next tier shouldn't Accuracy be back compatible to be used with the Feared? It would definitely help in those later battles, especially at the cost in time and books it will entail! Finally, with the cost of potions I'm using to defeat the higher Feared challenges', I currently don't see how I can ever be successful against Lethal Adversaries.

it all comes down to which profession you're using, not what lvl you are (altho probs if youre lv 20-30 you may not/wont have profession plan(s) maxed out) (vs advers) AND if you have:
1. main profession plan maxed out fully
and
2. if you have all of the feared nodes in adversarial plan finished.
I'll give an example:
I have all 3 main professions maxed out, but before the 1st adversary event I did not have any of the feared nodes in any of the 3 professions.
So, I did the 1st event (draco and fenrir) as an auror w/o any nodes in the new plan. For both of those (not to mention the other feared adver. chains) I had to use at least 1 healing for the 2nd guardian and 1 for the archfoe and 1 potent and 1 wit. (Side note here potent, strong and wit were all maxed out from sos nodes pre-event, so if you dont have those 3 maxed with or w/o the extra charge that will increase the # of extims/wits you'll need per chain). For the Hungarian dragon I needed 5+ healings and 1 potent and 2 wits.
fast forward a month: Now I have all of feared nodes (including the 75 dada ones):
Draco and Fenrir are reliably potionless, I dont use any extim or healing, although I may use a basic extim if im pressed for time or otherwise bored just to make it a little quicker to ****.
Lockheart I defeat with only 1 strong and no wit or healing (his pixie guardians are sometimes a pita b/c of dodge but cant ever **** me and dont need extims theyre 2-4 shots if no-dodge) and usually have 1 charge left after victory.
peter is 1 strong+1wit and usually I have 0-1 charges left off the strong depending on how many crits I do
narcissa is a pain b/c of the dodging but usually w 3 crits I can 1potent 1 wit w 2 charges off the potent left (have the extra charge so 6/6)
ukranian dragon is 1 wit 1 potent usually w 1-2 potent charges left depending on crits. reliably dont need healing or extims in 2 guardians.
norwegian is 1 potent 1 wit with 2-3 charges left on potent depending on crits. i may need a healing in three headed dog depending on crits/dodges (me to it)
hungarian i can do either with 1potent 1 wit and 0-1 healings or 1 strong 1 wit and 1-2 healings. i may need a healing in sphinx depending on how often i dodge/crit her
aragog is 1 strong+1 wit with 1-2 charges left on strong depending on crits
basilisk i can do either with 1 potent and 1 wit and no healing with 2-3 charges left on potent depending on crits, or, 1 strong 1 wit and probs 1 healing with 0-1 charges left on strong depending on crits.
the most reliably potionless profession is magiz if you dont mind using up to 400 SE per chain depending on the adversary, and possibly 1 healing, but probs not.
professor uses less healing than auror but more extims.
I cant know how much tougher the Lethals will be, but they will most likely be tougher than the feared ones. My strategy is to have both auror and magiz lethal nodes finished (50% there, I finished lethal nodes in auror this event) before the 1st lethal is released, which I can manage unless its released on Feb. event. Then decide if auror is worth it or go magiz.
Beyond that my overall strategy is: use advers (and whate DADA from other events) to finish off sos and x3 adversary plans nodes requiring dada, star all feared (and lethal) pages on gold, and then skip after 1st or 2nd guardian. Yes, I wont be getting the assured DADA after archfoe but I won't be spending any potions either, and sooner or later fragments will fill up and in gold theyll give me 25/32 DADAs with each image placement w/o me spending any potions in it.
Now, if/when they release new content that may need more DADAs I may go back to killing archfoes again until I max that 'new content' out and so on...If I'm still playing by that time which considering how bad this game's bugs are it's not exactly a certainty it'll not happen (uninstall).
So tl;dr:
auror: less extims+wit, but potentially more healings than other 2
magiz: can do entirely potionless at least extim/wit but requires a ton of SE
prof: more extims than auror but less healings.
whichev. profession you decide to go with, do all the feared nodes including the x2 75 DADAs ones, and try and have potions maxed out before long from sos trees, they help immensely.
Idk how much you can or want to play but try and work on lethal nodes on the profession you'll be playing as vs advers, bc as tough or tougher as the Lethals may end up being they'll be magnitudes tougher w/o them if my experience vs the feared adversaries w/o feared nodes is anything to go b y. The dif. may be 2 potents + 2 wits + 2healings w nodes vs 5 potents + 5wits + 10 healings w/o or it may be "3 potents + 3 wits+4 healings" vs "undoable" idk, but its safe to say that with the lethal nodes all giving accuracy, those Lethals will dodge to heck and back...thrice lol
if the circles are too small and too fast for you, which I can understand, or for some other reason your hands dont like them, physical issues etc, then magiz may be the profession for you, magiz has enough stamina and defense to not be bothered too much by getting hit 1-2 times more. Auror is dead, and prof may mean more potions.
I hope this helps.
The accuracy reference in the training is a bit concerning - from experience failing to hit fierce erklings without a confusion charm, high dodge opponents are frustrating - compared with say high health where you can potion your way through, you face a gamble and I've in the past frittered away a whole potion without landing a hit in the past
Being both high health (I'd be, pleasantly, surprised if we got away without feared adversaries having much higher health than dragons etc) and high dodge would be tedious
yeah, I have several guesses as to how the Lethals might/will be:
I can imagine the lethals will be tedious, yes. High dodge, probs higher than narcissa's, if we're getting 100% accuracy on last lethal node, it tells me lethals will have at least 110%++ dodge coupled with very high health, probs weakest lethal to have more stamina than the highest-stamina feared archfoe, probs going up to 10.000 for voldemort. And I'd be willing to bet $ that their dmg to us is gonna be from insane to maybe 1-shot (we have 3-4 shots in a chain we **** them or they 1-2 shot us) or like in some mmorpgs they leave us w 1 stamina in their 1st shot and then **** us in 2nd if we havent healed.
is it worth it? yes and/or no.
are you 'dedicated' to gold-staring all pages? do you want to complete all sos trees and/or all advesrarial plans (eventually)?
if yes, then it's worth it, if no...then no (and/or if you dont have the time for it)
achievable? defo, but if youre completely f2p (including vault expansions etc, potions, rental cauldron etc) then it might take you months or years to achieve, otherwise some 'whales' have already finished all 5000 dadas required for x3 plans + x3 sos trees before the 2nd event. Most ppl will probs not do that, lol. Personally i've given them some $ along the way (been playing since day 1 launch) for vault expansions and rental caudron, but I completely refuse to pay money for the edms considering how overpriced they are.
Wow, I finally understand why people are doing just the guardians to help prestige the pages so they can get more DADA books from placing images. I am a magizoologist who is still working on getting the Advanced Adversarial Combat Training requiring 75 and 100 DADA books. Even though I don't use as much potions as other professions, I still have to conserve until I can replenish my stock. I will follow your advice after I placed the Adversary image on the page, and face the Adversary again once I prestige the page. Ingenious! Thank you very much!
oh and btw (in case it wasnt known before): you cant get to the 1st lethal node (100 dadas) unless/until you have both 75 DADA feared nodes. 1/2 won't let you get the node below. So, while they are individually 75 DADA, to get to the Lethal node(s) you (essentially) will need 75x2=150 DADAs.
also if you're gonna skip archfoe to help prestige my advice would be, don't 'just' place/star (per prestige) star and refill, if youre in wood for an adver. page archfoe's gonna need 9 fragments (9 successful chains) to star, in bronze you need 18, so if you 'just' place on wood and skip after you'll still need 18 after you prestige to bronze. Do refill and then in bronze instead of 0/18 you'll have 9/18, you'll only need 9 chains to star, then 18 chains to refill, then in silver you'll have 18/27 to star, and then 27 to refill to get to gold and have 27/36, then placing on gold becomes slightly easier than needing 0/36.
@Drakonite thank you very much for the insights. These informations will help a lot. 😊
yw!
I pretty much ignore everything but Draco or Fenrir. But that's because I am farming them for books.
They cost barely any resources and the rewards are the same as the harder ones.
Until I leveled up my skills, I see no point in dumping resources into any other encounter.
I'll wait till I see the rewards for the lethal ones before I will decided if I'm even going to be bothered with them.
I'm gold staring all pages before ignoring them.
