What's the maximum number of gifts you can get from the environment per day?

I just got Preferred Client (the Gold Gift training) and so, like many others here, I've started obsessing over what's in my gift collection to make sure I've got < 29 at all times.
I'm also getting a little OCD about good gifts. I ran out of room a couple of times yesterday, to the point where I had to dump even decent things like Wizard XP and Extravagant Ingredients, in addition to dumping the usual ingredient gifts, etc.
But: late yesterday evening, I got to the point where I was no longer getting any gifts at all from the environment, even though I had space available in my collection. I started getting gifts again after midnight local time.
So: is there an upper limit on gift pickups from the environment, per day? If so, what might it be?

The limit is 100 gifts obtained from ANY source per day. So if you hit the limit by visiting a bunch of inns, you will not be able to get a gold gift that day.
100 from all/any sources, so if you get 50 basic spell energy from inns it means you can get another 50 from inns+gh+forts
The limit is 100 gifts from inns/greenhouse/fortress rewards, but I believe you can still receive gold gifts as long as you have the free space. The only issue is the droprate is so low it may seem you don’t get them anymore.
But don’t go and keep 29/30 gifts as you may have multiple chances for it to drop while placing one item, so I would say to stay always below 25/30 gift space to make sure you can get 3-4 at one go.
