So am I the only one seeing the adversaries challenges as potion and spell energy sucks? They don't allow for the same buffs like the fortresses and takes twice as much power of not more to defeat. It's like fighting dark chamber 5 by yourself every time.
I'm not the most powerful player (level 41) by any means but something's gotta give

Total energy and potion suck. And the potions barely touch the adversaries. It’s so ridiculous
not the only one. my energy is cut down by over half and I'm now out of coins and potions
YES!!! I blow so much spell energy and potions on those dang adversary challenges. Almost feels like a deliberate strategy on the part of the developers to get you to spend more gold (or actual money) on energy and potions 🤨
I think the "issue" is more to do with how long it takes to collect spell books to advance in the advanced adversarial combat branch. Since adversaries award such little xp it's not really a viable option to get spell books, but draining all your extimulos in the highest challenge chamber will mean that you have none left for the adversaries. Personally I just battle the lower levels and gain xp from returning gold book fragments now.
It's not necessarily something I feel the need to complain about yet, but definitely will take long to advance in the tree enough for it to benefit you in adversary encounters. I'm almost at level 52 and only have three steps of the tree complete and I don't feel like much of an effect on encounters. Staying optimistic though. 😊
If possible, try keeping x amount of extimulo potions in store for challenges like this. I brew as many as I can when I sleep or am at work and only use the weakest extimulo on map encounters. The calendar offers gold on multiple days a month and I haven't really had the need to spend money on the game if I plan how to use my potions. I get the frustration though and this might not suit somebody else's way of playing the game! This is just my way of saving up potions.
No sir you are not. The easier ones, like Draco are ok, but these that are boosted now ain't worth the potions and spell energy that I have to use to get them done. And when it seems like all extimulo ingredients are gone when usually there are plenty, I'm not even trying to get the dada's like I did in the last event. I also feel that the more I do the adversaries sos the more lousy my auror gets in fortresses, less crit hits, more double strikes from the enemies. It feels like when i should be progressing I only go back to sucking round objects that I probably can't mention by their name here 😂
And yes I know sos doesn't have anything to do with how many times the foes attack, it just feels that they attack more than before 🙂
Not at all. I beat the horn tail once using soo much energy and an apothecaries worth of many potions. Just too hard. I refuse to do it again. And I had a stockpile of potions. I repeat.. had. Simply too hard and not worth every single potion I have to take over 10 minutes of my actual life stressed. Hard pass here. Level 39 Professor if anyone cares.
If I've counted right, using a number of healing potions to keep going, as a Magizoologist the horntail hit me:
20 times as one turn per round
5 times as twice per round
Once three times in a row
The proportions seem about right for the 20% chance of an extra hit (it was below for most of the fight and had a bit of a lucky patch).
I think one did get me for six yesterday, but I might have lost count. That's hopefully a one in a not very frequent event
my experience as magizoo encountering this event adversary (hungarian horntail dragon) was it could defeated with just 1 potent and 1 wit (potent upgrade at maxed but my wit upgrade isnt maxed just to be unlocked for node beyond it), only need a healing potion when multiple attack in a row occured which is very rare to me.
btw, my advance adversarial tree its still for critical chance maxed so basically doesnt have dodge .
