Hello everyone,

I am looking for some tips and tricks for level 9 plus fortresses.

Yestertday, I attempted a level 9 fortress as a level 27, profession 9 auror along with a level 27 professor.

Both of us can solo level 8 fortresses.

We used a ton of healing potions but we were not able to beat the last guy as there were so many foes, in the time allotment.

Any ideas?

Should I be using wit-sharpening potions at this level? Would that make a difference?

Thank you for your insight.

I have only ever seen a discernible difference when using Wit-Sharpening Potion on Elite Foes; and the description for WSP concurs. The game will let you use the potion otherwise, just don't expect much.

Edit: sounds like you need more DPS, Extimulo Potions should put a bigger dent, sooner.

I currently have 25/30 in the area of power putting me at 82 power.

We both can solo level 8, neither of us can solo level 9 and we ran out of time on the last guy when we tried together.

It feels like the jump in difficulty from level 8 fortress to level 9 is pretty significant.

Hi. I am also an auror level 22 with only 20/30 Power but 5/5 Protego Power and I was able to solo a level 10 fortress yesterday. But I use potions a lot. Like the level 10 i was scared so i used invigoration draught before i enter each battle (either strong or normal, i only keep 2 or 3 each). Then exstimulo potion during the battle (either strong or potent) and sometimes wit sharpening as well (but i only keep 2 so i dont have much).

    I hope this helps.

dude, I just finished level 8 solo, still grade 6 tho. it was pretty tough and I did consume quite a few potions.

I dont think you can solo level 9 unless you are at the recommended level.

I can solo level 9 with a reasonable use of potions. Currently at the top end of Professor grade 7.

@fluoryde Invigoration potions increase your focus. As an auror you don't need much focus. So long as you have enough to cast your hexes you're good to go.

Group play is a different story where you can transfer your focus to another player. I gather if you take an invigoration you can transfer that as well. Sorry, not too sure as I've only played solo.

As a solo player use any invigoration potions you have (for the achievement) just don't make any more. Toss any ingredients for them also.

What level runestones did you use?

Like @ZookiTabooki said, unless its Elite WSP won't help. Whole topic on here if you search for "Different levels of foes in fortress wizard challenges"

Invigoration to kick start, buff up efficiently with charms/hexes, use Exstimulo on high hp, play to your strengths when possible and you should be able to solo a 9... unless you're using a high level runestone. Lvl 27 Professor (28 tomorrow, yay!!!), it sounds like we've similarly advanced our classes and I've only had to use healing on lvl 10 though sometimes I do on 9s if my Baruffio is running low. For 9s I can either make it or have time to get knocked out and wait to revive most of the time though.

During the community day I ran into a group of three other people. I don't know their levels. They hadn't completed a level 4 fortress yet. I offered to assist as level 4 is no problem for me whatsoever. They wanted to use level 5 runestones. I thought why not and used a level 4 runestone. It was really interesting. With four of us the level 4 fortress had eleven opponents to **** off. It wasn't necessarily hard, but it was significantly more than when I solo a level 4 to try to complete the 10 pixie SOS challenge.

I am also an auror, level 29. I did solo the tower level 9 yesterday. Ate up most of my potions, but I did it. I guess I am still lost on half of this stuff (runestone levels, my strength, etc). I have been stuck on the pickie sos FOREVER too. I even tried changing to professor, but got my **** kicked lol.

I tried a level 9 again today and was successful.

    My tips are:

I brewed potent exstimulo potions and that made a huge difference in damage output.

I also now have Dancing With Dummies along with First Strike. I let the enemy take a free shot on me and then the second round I have a good chance of really blasting him.

    Good luck
