Gift collection tracker
There’s currently no way to know how many gifts I’ve collected for the day. I know we have a max of 100 gifts, but it would be nice to have a counter showing how many we have collected (or have left to collect). This will help me determine what type of gift I should go after if I know I only have a certain amount left. Example: I missed collecting a gold gift after I placed an image because I had reached my max and didn’t know it (still showed the gift, but didn’t add it to my inventory). There is currently a counter for tacking how many gifts you’ve opened for the day so this would be a companion to that for the gifts screen 30/100 or 98/100 for example.

@Thunderbrdgrl I have thought the same thing so many times recently!!!! Especially with preferred client and gold gifts.
I have also asked this little while ago, when i got the gold gift sos done. Would be excellent.
yes, please!
Better yet, they should create a reserve, like Pokemon does, that holds only gold gifts, even if your gifts are full. That way, you do not spend all your time ****, only to lose out on the gold gift.
I lost out on 2 gold gifts because I filled up on energy and the next time I caught, it took me to the page where the founndable is, and automatically (even if you do not place the foundable at that time) gave me a runestone and gold gift. I hate when that happens. There is no way to stop it.
@SerineP It would be awesome to get a reserve for just Gold Gifts and Magnificent Gifts (or at least just the Gold Gifts). Both are unlocked through SOS nodes and really hard to come by, so losing/not getting any (whether that’s because your gift inventory is full or because you’ve reached the daily limit) just feels awful. With the magnificent gifts, since you don’t know if you would have got it, it’s not too bad; but it feels really bad with regards to the Gold Gifts, since you can see it show up and know you lost it, plus you can sometimes get them accidentally when you go to the registry page or are automatically sent to the registry page. It’s upsetting.
Also, I agree with everyone else who has commented here or previously suggested getting a daily gift limit counter in the past. It would be very useful in general with helping people decide if they want to visit POIs or if they want to go on the Knight bus mainly to get gifts, particularly when they are reaching the daily limit.
@THUNDERBRDGRL I have a max of 30 gifts to collect, not 100. I love this game, but I am frustrated by the lack of transparency of the rules and levels. I feel sometimes like I'm playing blind.
@SerineP At what point do you get to receive gold gifts and magnificent gifts? And are we talking about receiving gifts to give or getting gifts from other people?
As to the count, I have two counts in gifts. One shows how many gifts I have left to open for the day and the other says how many gifts I have to give. Right now, I have 14/30 gifts to give.
So, basically, this entire thread confuses me.
@VoiceMaster the counter that you see on the ‘GIFTS TO SEND’ page shows you how many gifts you are holding out of how many gifts you can hold onto at any point in time, which currently is 30. Once you reach that 30 limit, you can no longer collect any more gifts and if you want to collect more, you either need to send some of those gifts to a friend or delete them (which I think you know already). The daily limit of how many gifts you can collect overall however is different - a player can only collect a total of 100 gifts per day from any source. Each time a player receives a gift to send to a friend, that gift is counted towards the 100 daily limit. So if a player continuously visits a bunch of POIs in one day and continues to send/delete gifts to keep their gift count below 30, once that player reaches the 100 gift per day limit, they will stop receiving gifts to send for that day - so even if that player then decides to do a fortress battle and their gift count is 20/30, they will not get a runestone gift from the fortress.
Also, in this case we are talking about receiving Gold Gifts and Magnificent Gifts to send to friends. In order to do this you need to unlock the relevant nodes on the SOS skill tree - ‘Preferred Client’ (the last node at the bottom of the ‘Calamity Essentials III’ tree) for the Gold Gifts and ‘Sage Advice’ (a node about half way through the ‘Calamity Essentials III’ tree) for the Magnificent Runestone Gifts. Gold Gifts drop randomly from treasure chests that are opened in the ‘exploration registry’ and the Magnificent Runestone Gifts are like any of the other types of runestone gifts and you have a chance of getting them by successfully winning a fortress battle.
I hope this all makes sense and helps.
It does make sense. Thanks @Imaginatio!
@VoiceMaster No problem. Glad it made sense and helped 😊
@Imaginatio Thank you for the explanation re the 100 gift/day limit! That may explain why I had such a dry spell trying to earn Gold gifts - 140 trunks opened to get one! I thought the limits on earning gold were the random return rate of the game and whether I kept a place open in my gift bag. So there’s no incentive to grind for gold beyond having earned 100 gifts per day? Good to know.
@ResurrectionIvy The gold gifts are quite rare, so I’m not surprised at the 140 number.
I think you may still see the gold gift as a reward from a trunk if you reach the 100/day limit and receive it, though it probably won’t get added to your list of gifts. However, I haven’t both reached that limit and got a gold gift at the same time, so I can’t say for sure. Whether you see it or not though, at the moment it’s best not to go out looking for gifts when you’ve reached the 100 per day limit.
I agree, it would be great to be able to see how close you are to 100 to avoid any problems with losing valuable gifts.
I would love to see a counter as described above with number of gifts collected per day.
