Releasing progressive plot through the Events is nice... but also. HOW IS ANYONE NEW OR ANYONE WHO HAD MISSED AN EVENT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANY CLUE WHAT THE PLOT IS!?

Over exaggerated flailing aside, the point still stands. I love that we have more mystery and plot progression in the game. However, to release that plot using a never repeatable game system so that anyone new joining won’t ever know what has really happened up to that point is super bad design. Devs either need to figure out their Brilliant events, or they need to rework the storyline into SOS missions that everyone will get to enjoy at least once. Elementary design flaw, people. 😤

or some page, or youtube channel dedicated to story episode by episode (event by event) so anyone can review the storyline anytime.

even first timer player (from first event) could forgot all the storyline (me). LoL

Someone posted a link to a cracking little site with all the historic story saved on it. So, err, it's out there somewhere

Ahh yes, it's fairly high up the 'story' forum area. https://www.reddit.com/user/zviznemte/comments/hwi2d2/storyboard_text_brilliant_events/ with thanks to @Drakonite for posting it

But back to your point, something official to let people catch up without scouring a forum would make sense - as you say there's no (in game) way for a new player to follow much at all about things. Maybe be have somewhere a journal that populates with a summary of the plot from each event - but Constance gives new players 'her' notes from past surges to get them up to speed and they can still find out about the five themselves etc. Perhaps one for the list after SOS newsletter is working again and...

This kind of is a problem, yes, but the more fundamental issue is that the plot can't ever be resolved, i.e. they can't find a way to stop the desaster, because that obviously would mean that the game ends... So, you might argue that - in the end - the plot is kind of irrelevant anyways...

You can absolutely have important and interesting plot and keep the game going. You could even END the plot saying “Hey. This is just now a weird magical phenomenon that no one can fix or would take years to do.” Or something. If your argument is that the plot is irrelevant then there shouldn’t be any plot. As it stands, there is plot and people have engaged with it and want to know what’s happening.

there is no plot, there has been no plot since launch (no new mystery items), the plot right now is "oh just keep throwing idiotic hints in BE convos that lead nowhere b/c we have no plot"

and if they did that "Hey. This is just now a weird magical phenomenon that no one can fix or would take years to do." the last few ppl who remain would most likely leave. I don't play this game to mindlessly return things repeatedly w/o any reason or plot to do so.
