Stay Safe on Community Day: Notice for Mid-West and Atlantic Seabord USA Players
There is an Excessive Heat Warning for today through Sunday.
Players in the mid-west and eastern parts of the USA should remember to bring water and plan cool places to rest as they play on Community Day. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible, and drink plenty of water.
If you experience dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, fainting, or a high heart rate get to a cooler area immediately and slowly sip water - those are signs of heat exhaustion. If you see another player show signs of confusion or disorientation or stop sweating while still clearly overheated, get them medical attention as soon as possible - those are signs of heat stroke.
I hope everyone has fun Saturday playing Wizards Unite and stays healthy while doing it.

Excellent advice! Stay cool, lots of fluids... check!
Hi @Glimmermir, thank you for sharing this great advice and taking care of your fellow players!
I would like to add that there are a lot of indoor areas that are great to play Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in as well! For example, we are partners with Simon Mall and each location has plenty of fortresses and inns. https://www.simon.com/harry-potter-wizards-unite
Wishing everyone a safe and fun Community Day!
oooh, I have a Simon mall near me. I'll have to see what can be reached from the massage chairs ;)
Definitely warm here in Michigan today.
But I vowed that I will not complain about the heat until we get HVAC (we have no heating utility in our home) because Winter's going to suck. Thus, I bathe in the heat while I have it. I welcome the solar deluge and invite it to stick around through Winter.
Yeh- no probs in the northwest England with that- i think we're safe!! Currently under a blanket, its totally grey & miserable outside! Lol
Great British weather eh! It's July ya know!!! Lol
Raining in Scotland. Not ideal for walking Portkeys, phone gets soggy! Anyway hope folks stay safe in the heat. I’m going to add a hat to the list of your precautions - makes a difference when I’m walking in sunnier climates.
@KatherineSarah Neat trick I learned at Fanfest in Chicago (PoGo); put your phone in a Ziplock Bag. Works great for playing in the rain. We thought our phones would overheat but it never happened.
Can someone confirm for me that if CD starts at 11 am PDT in the US, that it will then start at 1 pm in the CST zone? We are going to go to the local Simon mall and want to be sure we are going at the right time.
Yes, Hqunizel, that’s correct. Have fun!
Is there anything special actually happening during the community day like they do with PoGo?
@Popcat Yes, we will see:
3x XP when using Baruffio’s Brain Elixir
Increased number of Traces on the map
Increase of Hogwarts School Traces
Dark Detectors last 1 hour
@GLIMMERMIR, thank for getting back to me. Very useful information.
Enjoy the event and best of luck!
Why did inns only give 3 energy during the entire community day event. That was very hampering. No matter which inn you went in you only got 3 energy. For 3 hours! I enjoyed the event otherwise.
We battled the heat in SC and had 9 wizards show up to play together. I brought a case of water to make sure everyone stayed hydrated. I personally enjoyed the event and loved that we could use it to meet new friends in our cities.
