At first I thought they might when they said they were gonna do something about freeloaders and possibly extra stops for greenhouses/inns if players were vocal about it but they never did. I doubt it now. They haven't even fixed the glitch that keeps kicking players out, nor the one showing negative foes or making it seem like players are inactive. Too many glitches right now that I think that would just add to them, though. I wish they would cause finding friends the manual way is such a pain and I only know one other person in my city who plays
One of the issues with the friend approach is that it then creates a two tier system where issues with general public servers are overlooked since the most active people only go with friends.
Probably just saying that as someone without friends :( Although from other threads, some people seem to do quite well through discord etc
Depending how it was implemented it could also be tedious for those of you with 200 random friends not picked for their ability in fortresses.
That said, especially if combined with other matters to help fortressing more generally such as the ability to give someone a general thumbs up, or more specific flagging ('good cast', 'I need X please') and maybe the ability to invite someone as a friend from the fortress, then I'm not against it - I just don't feel it's a panacea on its own

Why do we need to ask for this in 1000 separate posts?
It was suggested before the Knight Bus and it is needed badly.
And it is already developed in another Niantic game, it should be in the engine.

Discord has been great for finding people to battle with in the fortresses!
