When giving gifts to others, I’m usually just guessing what they might need, picking a gift at random or just operating by reciprocity (give them what they gave me if possible).

If each player can rank their needs then friends will have a better idea as to what best to gift them. I’m assuming everyone likes potions and gold gifts but there are certainly times where I have specific need of spell energy or runes (see below) or even potion components but have no way to tell anyone.

Another improvement would be to know what specific rune family is in a gift so that can also be gifted according to needs. We know what type of potion is in a gift so why not what type of rune?

Definitely would be helpful. I'm usually in regular need of spell energy so I used to send that out when I could only to find people (on here at least) preferred extravagant runestones and ingredients, nothing basic which I always had plenty of until SOS. I used to have more runestones than I knew what to do with but now with adversaries I'm trying to get more spellbooks so I'm in need of those too. Gifts are so random though I'm guessing you'd rarely get what you were looking for anyway, especially after the wit potion fiasco and that was actually event based

What if they added a new aspect to the game. Using the DADA coins players could communicate their needs for gifts.

The DADA coin could be incorporated as a part of the in game friends bit. Make the player number a set number on the coin then have a numbered portion (say at the top of the coin image) that you can alter similar to master notes when brewing. This will allow you to show others what you need as far as gifts go.

This is an outstanding idea. Plus, could we remind players not to give Wizard XP gifts to level 60 players? Give it to someone that can use it!
