Treasure trunks and spell books
Hi,
I spent lot of Dada books to open spellbooks reward for family chests in treasure trunks (level 20) that should give more chance to get spell books.
Since then even if I got a lot of treasure trunks I got zero spell books.
Are we sure they have activated the reward?
Give me your feedback if you have tried this.

I know that Hogw fam. node is bugged and doesnt give books. There's at least 1 more node that's bugged and gives red books in magz fam trunks instead of whatev.
the rest give at abt a 5% frequency as does the gold gift and extravagant rune gift.
Ive got all of those nodes (almost except for magz and loh) and so far the most prolific one's been MoM, gotten 3 reds in 8 trunks.
after that ive gotten 1 rb from oddities chest and 1 from mags and 1 from comc, but i couldnt tell you in how many chests.
if the percentage is same as in gold gift then that means 5% which means 5 out 100 chests should give you a red book (each).
I have the same problem! I unlocked the family chests on level 20 that reward spell books (Hogwarts, Ministry of Magic, and Wonders of Wizarding World). It's been a week since then and NO spell books.
Frankly, there have been a lot of times where I felt like the lessons were placebos and a total waste (i.e. spell mastery lessons and the gift rewards), but this one cost a lot of precious DADA books. So frustrating!
The issue with a low probability (calling 5% low here) is that if it's properly random there would be a lot of people across a wide userbase who'll take a crazy time to see any payout. A quick play with a calculator shows there would be a smidgen over 1% chance of having no spell book from 89 treasure chests. Let's say there are 100k players (hopefully higher) then that would make 1k people left feeling it can't possibly be right.
Personally I'd make it semi random (and ideally higher probability than stated to reduce disappointment, eg so that you have a fixed gap of 5-25 between each one) so I don't know if my 1% is anywhere near accurate
I was wondering this too.... so it's not a bug, just a very small amount?
I have 5 of these (spent 100 DADA books) and have not received any spell books. I have moved on to other tasks until this reward is activated. I do not know but do not believe it is activated.
My feedback after a while is that you get spell books but rarely. I take that as a bonus with all the other way to get some.
What is curious is that on curiosities where you get easily 600 XP, I got no spell books at all.
I have unlocked some of those nodes to receive spell books from the trunks. The drop rate is very low, but I do get a spell book every now and then. It doesn't seem like I get enough red books to justify how many books I spent to unlock those nodes. Wish I had saved them to unlock more nodes on the adversary tree.
