Like most got hosed because the wit gift task didn't count receiving them from friends! Seems they were only if you found the golden ticket as you visited over 100 greenhouses or untold count of battles in fortresses...
Nope, but mine wasn't from lack of wit potions, it was from the inability to get malfoy or fenrir and their fragments.
Currently I am in a rural place where literally zero spawns. So to attempt to play I had to buy edms (you are welcome niantic) and in return I only found dragons and Pettigrew.
I can't even find ingredients on the Map, so no hope for finishing the BE part ii this week either. Makes me want to play less and less unfortunately.
I went to at least 100 Greenhouses, and 50 Challenges, and got ONE Wit-Sharpening gift. I figured it was a better bet to get 5 DADA books than fighting Adversaries. Boy, was I wrong! Complained on this forum. No response.
We should all be given the rewards we were unable to earn.
Within 2 hours after the event ended, I found two Wit-Sharpening gifts! 😬
I managed to get my wit-sharpening gifts from fortresses, so I finished. But even if I hadn't finished, 300+ DADA books from the adversaries I fought made it a great event for me!
I did not finish. Needed 1 more WSG. Did dozens of challenges etc etc and greenhouse visits dropped zero gifts of any sort for me. Spent real money and used lots of spell energy and potions trying.

I was able to finish the task mostly at home. All wit sharpening gifts were from challenges and I got them in about an hour.

After the event ended, every greenhouse I hit was a wit gift. Seriously some dirty play on that one. Pretty sad.
