100 gifts later - 0 Wit-Sharpening Gifts

In a panic to finish the event today I did around 70 fortresses, and harvested a bunch of Inns / Greenhouses.
Yesterday I got 2 wit-sharpening gifts from finishing the fortress-related tasks alone and playing a bit casual.
Today I didn't get a single wit-sharpening potion so I cannot finish the task.
And since someone made a stupid decision to let you get max 100 gifts per day, I am stuck and cannot proceed until tomorrow.
If you are gonna make an event, at least make it finishable.
If I get another 100 unlucky gifts tomorrow, the event will be forfeit and I cannot finish it.
MEANING I CANNOT GET END REWARDS AND SEE HOW THE STORY GOES!
How the **** can you design an event to be unfinishable if someone gets unlucky with gift drops?!?!
Are you trying to lose your entire player base?
What is the thought process of denying players completion, exactly?

I am having similar problems. Tried greenhouses. Multiple challenges and only 1 gift so far.
I'm so angry. I've put so much money into this game, especially with dragon event and now this one. I'm not gonna finish cause they aren't dropping from knight bus and I cannot go out today. My mother did and stopped at a greenhouse. Just got a regular ingredient gift. Not worth it if you have to go on a wild goose chase to complete one task and it's the only one I need. First event I won't complete
Yep. Obviously while trying to play safely I've had limited greenhouse opportunities and lost count of number of miles on the knight bus and not a sausage. Ridiculous task to set if there's no realistic chance of completion. Bloody livid....

I stopped playing a while ago because I couldn't finish the events. I just started playing again because we are in a lockdown again and now this.
Ugh this is not the way to keep players
My guess is that there's a 'chance to drop' field that someone didn't document well so when they've gone 'lets have a 25%' chance, someone has put '0.25' in a field that should have '25' to give a 0.25% drop chance.
It wouldn't explain why some of us have been able to have a lucky run to finish the event, but it would be consistent with the very low rate for things like charms traces and spell books from treasure chests (the latter feels like it must be below 1%).
I am also zero on the finding of wit sharpening potion gifts. It’s the last task left to complete this crazy thing. I think I have spent way too much time, resources and effort on this fruitless task. I am hoping Niantic will make good in this with a bunch of free stuff and maybe fix the problem.
I believe the reason I am not “collecting wit sharpening gifts” is because I am maxed out on my 30 gift limit. And I cannot get rid of my gifts because I have no friends on this game to give them to in order to make room in my inventory.

If you are maxed out on your gift inventory you can delete to make room. I deleted many gifts and visited probably 20 greenhouses, but finally got my last Wit Sharpening gift to finish the event.
For this event I deleted my gifts down to 10 of 30 and keep it that way. Still, since friday I just for 1 (one) and one only **** Warpening Gift through the fortress. I hope I'll get the last 2 from greenhouses, although I rather stay home during the lockdown process.
I sincerly hope that soemthing will happen so the event can be finished properly.
I, too, am unable to find any wit-sharpening gifts. I was able to get outside today and swing by some greenhouses and inns but to no avail. I have also done Hogwarts fortress and an outside fortress but again no wit-sharpening gift. Am I missing something?
Same here. Have been playing most of the day today, have only received one so far from a Greenhouse. Zero from Knight bus. Any suggestions?
Today I've only been hacking/ spinning greenhouses only (not inns) and **** ruins 4 however I've not got the last wit gift Ive needed since yesterday to finish the final task & complete this event. Something feels wrong should I log an issue through ingame help or praps am I very very very 'very' very unlucky
This is so annoying! Drop rate for this kind of things should be much higher, so PLEASE INCREASE THE DROP RATE! You have fixed problems during events when mystery notes etc were not dropping, so why not fix this?
I JUST got my 3rd wit sharpening gift (while I was almost ready to send this) so now I can finally relax, but it has been really stressing struggle and I feel sad for many fellow players!
I have travelled to visit 2 different greenhouses and tried at least 10 times in them with no luck (even if I got a wit sharpening gift before the event started, so I know they should be able to drop). I have also played via Knight Bus something around 20-30 times both yesterday and today. I got miraculously 2 wit sharpening gifts yesterday from the fortress, and today finally the 3rd one.
I would have been so angry if I had missed all the event rewards for not getting ONE more gift, even if I managed to do everything else...
I did have free space in my gift vault and I had not got 100 gifts today yet, as I still kept getting runestone gifts, so the wit sharpening gifts weren't just dropping. BTW, you really should add a counter to the game so the player can see how many gifts they have gained that day! There seems to be room for that above the gift list. There is a timer on friend's page about when the day will change, so I assume that it would be easy to add the counter to the other page! It also turned out that many players had no idea about the 100 gift per day limit, so it should be easier to find this kind of important information in the game!
It makes me sad that I had to keep wasting runestones and deleting other gifts to make room for possible wit sharpening gifts, as normally I can hardly keep up getting enough gifts for my 80 friends :(
I am on 6 different Facebook HPWU groups and players everywhere really struggle and have trouble in being able to finish this task!
Adversaries are taking LOTS of spell energy and not everyone can visit greenhouse or inn (or have spell energy on their map or have friends who can send some). They might not have chosen professor in their combat training so they can't play in fortress with the help of deterioration hex (to save spell energy). Repeatedly and hopelessly trying to gain wit sharpening gifts can be very difficult!
It's ridiculous how expensive EDMs are, so missing on getting this event's rewards (which includes one EDM) will make lots of players very disappointed and sad!
I'm a lucky one??? Yesterday I walked around for hours equaling about 10km according to my port keys gathered and unlocked, hitting Greenhouses in my area time after time. Finally got all three, but I didn't get any from Wizarding Challenges or Adversary event. I believe I went far beyond was should be expected for most players, and btw I'm 55...are you trying to **** me! ☠️
The last thing...shouldn't Adversaries have increased rewards when they are considerably harder. Take Draco vs Narcissa that I battled today, each gave One **** book, but potions used and energy used to defeat all three of Narcissa's was dramatically higher than Draco's. Now I pretty much out of gold, ingredients, and potions to do any more battles... As Stan Lee used to say... Nuff said!
Yes I'm having the same issue, I have 1 wit sharpening gift (have no idea where from) got it yesterday then none today...... Despite doing 50 plus fortress battles and visiting what few inns and single greenhouse are around me. I'm in a rural area. Also not advised to go out in current situation. Why would they put something so difficult in???
I am also finding the adversaries EXTREMELY tedious and massively potion heavy. Which makes it all the more a kick in the teeth that I probably won't finish this due to 2 stupid gifts. SORT IT OUT NIANTIC it's not fair
@oooHulio I reported several times in app and keep getting the stupid bot. Lola is apparently aware and yet still nothing. so angry I and several others are going to miss out because of this and wasted so many potions and energy to not receive the final reward due to no fault of our own.
It’s been just crazy! I’m level 60 and the same! I gift from a greenhouse. None from 60 fortress challenges!
We have 3 family accounts and zero credit for wit sharpening! So we cannot finish! :-(
I am also having an issue w the wit sharpening gift.
I went to 3 green houses and multiple inns. This is also the last item for me to complete the event.
Any suggestions ?
It’s things like this impossible to complete task that drives players away.
update: after playing all weekend I finally got my first one. Dark one I think? nothing since

Update: I have just done another ten or so Ruins Four before breakfast and got the final wit gift I needed so am guessing I've just been unlucky on this occasion

I am in a low greenhouse area. 2 within a few miles of me. Walked to one yesterday, waited to harvest multiple times. Got 1 wit sharpening gift. Nothing from at least 10 inns. Nothing from fortresses. I am not going into populated town centers right now to finish this task. Absolute joke.
A witless task by a dull witted company. I truly hope that these drop rates were just a horrible programming error and not a blatant disregard for a global pandemic. It's truly dissapointing when a kinda cool new feature is quickly followed by something that leaves a sour taste for players. Niantic...why can't you just get it right?
Ok, this morning I did a few "drive in" green houses (lucky to live in big city, still I rather stay in house at the moment) and got lucky to get the last two Wit Sharpening Gifts - Phew.
Still, in times like these, there should have been more from the fortress battles (even if it was "highest Chamber only" or so.

Same here! Tena and tens of challenges and greenhouses and just 1 wit sharpening gift so far. The event is seriously bugged
