Purchase Failed
I have been impacted by the inability to purchase anything from Diagon alley. This issue started for me, on the last community day about a week ago. After much searching through Facebook and the community forum, I found a temporary and very inconvenient workaround. I had to sign out of my Apple ID, power off my device, power my device back on, Open the Wizards Unite app, make my purchase, then sign back into my Apple ID. I would be able to make a purchase for maybe 10 minutes, and if I wanted to make additional purchases I would have to follow the previous steps all over again. I did that for about five or six days. However, nowWhen I try that workaround, it doesn’t work anymore. I did a factory reset on my phone and tried the same work around steps and still no luck. There is no way to play the game, especially adversaries, without getting potions and coins. At this point, I can’t play the game or participate in any of the events. I reached out to Apple support and they told me it’s a developer issue. I’ve reached out to Niantic via This forum, using the chat bought in the app, and going to the Niantic support page. I have received no communication from Niantic, and no resolution. I am beyond angry.

The “purchase failed” is extremely frustrating and disappointing, just as the Adversaries came into the game. It seems like this would be a high priority fix, but it’s been over a week since I’ve been able to rent the extra cauldron or even get keys or potions or anything from the store. I see that many have this issue. The work around of telling support what you want and for how much works except when you actually want to purchase coins. Money is definitely being lost since this bug started, so it seems like it would be high priority. Niantic- please fix this issue.
I am in the same boat... well, it seems like more of a cursed cruise ship at this point. I am feeling defeated. I just received an apple gift card and wanted to purchase coins, rent a cauldron, and get an EDM or two, but there has been zero help from support (during this event) and zero updates on here!
At this point, I’m starting to think the calamity is responsible for this... but I thought Niantic would have their task force working as hard as possible to get a fix. They are clearly losing money, players, and respect.
With 8hrs of this event left, and no update or fix, I’m losing hope. I’m just glad my therapist also plays HPWU so they can understand my frustration lol.

Same here. I’ve been unable to make any purchases since just before these start of the Adversary event. My workaround using another device stopped once new assets were downloaded in that device. Lost significant gameplay time when unable to restock energy. Rural player so no nearby greenhouses, & tried every chamber/stone combo but failed to get the wit-sharpening gifts. It’s a great concept, but the execution of this newest update & event were sorely disappointing.
I’ve also lost the ability to make purchases. I’m out of spell energy, so that’s the end of playing for me during this event. How aggravating!
The inability to make purchases has made the game essentially non-playable to me.
Is there any sense of when this will be fixed? If there is any kind of bug or issue that will drive player away it's exactly this kind of thing which, candidly, is shocking as Niantic is making it hard to give Niantic money.
I have had the same issue and thought it was just because I was doing something wrong. I would have loved to play more adversaries and buy more potions to do so. I'm super bummed. Someone said that they had no issues from an android phone. Does anyonbe know about this? I'm really hoping this will be fixed soon. It's been 3 weeks or so...

I tried this and basically Apple just said it’s the developers problem and there is nothing in my queue.
having said that, logging out of my Apple ID and rebooting does allow me to buy everything I need. Just a pain. Hope there is a fix soon @hpwulola ?
I contacted Apple per Drakonite's helpful post. Got the runaround that it wasn't an Apple issue, etc. They deleted several pending downloads for other apps. Did not fix it. Then they deleted a pending download for Wizards Unite, and THAT fixed it. Yay! Hope this helps someone else.
I have had the same issue for Months and beyond frustrating. I bought a new phone in December, was good until today. Then I purchased coins today, the app hung and I had to close it. Immediately I’m no longer able to use the coins for which I have paid Niantic - again! Niantic needs to reach out and refund all customers that have this issue immediately. But I’d prefer just being able to play the game as I have invested time and $ since day 1.
@Senet you can log out of your Apple ID and then purchase what you want with your coins. It’s a pain in the **** but it works
Update: Apple finally fixed it for me!
I thought I’d try Apple again and this time I finally got someone who was able to do as described by @Drakonite (thank you Drakonite!). It took me three different agents over the last two weeks! The first two said I had no pending downloads. The third one was able to help in minutes! I showed screenshots of the Reddit thread and Drakonite’s thread showing that this worked. Here is an except from my chat with the agent (Bryan Mauricio) in case it will help anyone else who encounters agents who say there is nothing pending download. I followed exactly what Drakonite said to do, the agent fixed it, I bought coins in HPWU, the app hung again and he fixed it again so I can now purchase items with my coins.
